I read the news today oh boy! Page 2,655

Nobody seriously thinks John Leslie was innocent. He wasn't destroyed. He got away with it.

The female judge who tried him for the alleged groping offence does, to quote her "You, for the second time, leave this court without a stain your character" after he was found not guilty by the jury in less than half an hour's deliberation, a clue to how weak the case was against him. After the previous case was dropped by the prosecution because of unreliable witness evidence.

As I was saying, guilty by media, not guilty by law. Where is he now on TV if his career wasn't destroyed? You've just proved some still think he's guilty simply because he was accused, and that is the problem with these public exposes. I'm not comparing him or his innocence to Brand, as I said I haven't seen the TV doc, but now have the gist of the scale of his allegations just by being on line, it's unavoidable.

Did anyone watch the C4 documentary on Brand "In plain sight" last night ? I was stunned by the shear weight of evidence against him. It's concerning they needed to wait so long before being confident they had him. He accused everyone of making a co-ordinated attack on him, as if that was the illegal part of all this. Clearly this exposure is necessary, if only to demonstrate to his 28 million followers the collateral damage Brand has caused can land you in court, can now be stopped. Even if Brand denies it to the day he dies, as do most serial offenders. All credit to C4 & the BBC for how quickly they have changed and clamped down on serial offenders. Especially given the NHS still victim blamed and closed ranks to protect Lucy Letby before she was convicted of 7 murders and 6 attempted murders. And the Police still try to close ranks even when BLM got them on video murdering someone "In plain sight".

Ever read any posts before yours?

Yes, can you expand on your point ?

I always loathed Brand and his phony right-on shtick from the word go, so I'm not surprised.

Liz Truss to give a speech today to remind us all how she drove the already suffering UK economy over a cliff

Thanks Liz

People need reminding

Great Post.

Just had three consensual wanks. Don't want my right fist suing me in 2030.

I notice once again when someone famous is accused of something like this, social media erupts into a Right Wing v Left Wing thing. As if somehow a political side makes a difference. Weirdly he doesn't even strike me as Right Wing but that's who's stepping in to protect him.

And I've said this before and I'll say it again, it's a puerile and shitty way to operate.

Most people won't even take an accused person's political persuasion into account but there's a section of society who make it their prime reason for attack or defence.

Just listened to a bit of Truss's demented ramblings for a laugh

As expected the reasons for her catastrophic premiership are every bodies fault but hers

She blamed the Bank of England, the BBC, the Left wing think tanks (??!) the liberal woke agenda - and fellow conservatives

Ok love

Now kindly f**k off forever , you pathetic, clueless twat

I wonder if his "Right Wing" supporters see an analogy with Trump ? Brand did have 28 million followers and a propensity to storm a capital.

Speaking for myself, I'm not protecting him but a person's right to a fair trial and not to have that prejudiced by a huge public expose in front of a scandal hungry, baying public. Just look at Lofty on here when someone he hates is under scrutiny.

I'm not sure what'd be more traumatic: being molested by Brand, or being so ugly that even he wouldn't bonk you. Can you imagine the shame? And how would her family feel? 'Your daughter was left alone with Russel Brand...' - 'Oh God, did he f**k her?' - 'No. That's how ugly she Is...' - 'Christ, how embarrassing. Why couldn't I have a normal kid? Always letting me down like that. You're a disgrace.'

At the end of August I decided to stop reading all tabloid and online news because I was looking at mirror.co.uk every day and the total lies and astoundingly poor journalism was making me stressed. The comments section that used to be amusing was now a despairing cesspit of racist, xenophobic morons who make everything about politics. I still check the news but now it's from the radio or evening news highlights and I actually feel happier for it and have been spending the time playing more chess, reading Michael Palin's excellent 1969 to 1979 diaries which includes a lengthy chapter of Barbados and making a mod for a computer game. There's nee porn on it.

That's right Tarby. The news programs can be bad for your mental health.
I listen to the headlines in case something major has happened then dodge the propaganda.

TV hasn't "just" reported the news since Brexit and covid. Instead they insist on bringing in "experts" with their opinions and forecasts, which previously would have been the province of such as Newsnight and Panorama. That's why I've given up watching the TV news. The five minute bulletins on the likes of radio 2 and commercial music stations are all I need to know what's going on without any agenda.
