I read the news today oh boy! Page 2,459

The 2 years ago was about being threatened with Corbyn. Not about loony left.

We'll have to take your word for that.

I didn't know the recent Rocketman was made for Netflix, whatever the f**k that is. Something to do with watching cinematic films on a tiny telephone, I believe. That makes sense doesn't it!

No - under the American streaming revolution, it has been re-born.
Nothing to do with politics.

Not everything made is for a streamer, but the streamers' demand for content means studio space is in demand.

It's not an either or situation.
You don't have to go back to restrictive working practices to actively fund a parochial British film industry.

No - but my point was it was a long time ago that the industry was making anything more than what it is now. Even independent home-grown stuff is far more numerous today than during the 2000s.

Breaking the strangle-hold on distribution would be a start.

Agreed!

The wife of a sacked minister has said she has "no regrets" about an online outburst in which she likened the UK's new prime minister, Liz Truss, to a muppet.

In the wake of Johnny Mercer's dismissal from government as veterans' affairs minister on Tuesday, Felicity Cornelius-Mercer launched into a tirade on Twitter, branding Truss an "imbecile" and slamming a cabinet system that "stinks" and "treats people appallingly".

Muppet , imbecile

Yep that covers it

Agreed!

Thank God for that.
Never go to bed on an argument, my mum said.

Don't come here then just before beddybye peepoes.

Finally, someone has come up with a genuine Brexit Benefit.
Conservative Tory party donor, Lord Spencer, has pointed out that now the City of London is no longer working under EU regulations we can remove the cap on banker's bonuses.
Fantastic.
Looks like the City Boys will be levelling-up in the future.

I've always thought 'muppet' is a strange insult.
Some Muppets are, after all, very clever. e.g. Professor Bunsen.

Kermit is a f**king hero!

And - on another note...

I'm presuming fracking will only take place in Tory voting constituencies?

Here's the thing: remainers look for a benefit from Brexit. But for leavers, Brexit is the benefit in and of itself. So remainers will probably never get one clearly set out and an argument made to them.

Or to put it another way, There's none so blind as those who will not see.

I have always maintained this.
The benefits are entirely idealogical and conceptual.
Just a feeling of having got one over on someone else.
Slightly pathetic, but understandable.

Quite.

Not sure - but I think the Queen might have died.
Somethings up in the House of Commons.
