I read the news today oh boy! Page 2,384

Of course she's only considered fascist because the left have decided that she is a fascist merely because she doesn't subscribe to their ideology. She does not consider herself fascist; her supporters do not consider her fascist.

The left have decided, quite scurrilously, that at least half the contributors to these forums are fascists (see Chipolata's post above). Clearly that is not true and Lazzard's subsequent post implies that he agrees that that is nonsense.

So I don't think we need take seriously the left labelling anybody who disagrees with them a fascist. It is more of a default position.

It was a joke. It may not have been successful or very good but it was nonetheless humour. As for me, I'm more centrist than left wing, although in truth I do find the endless obsession with labels (lefty, woke, anti-woke, right wing) on this forum a little boring. Topics are complex and boiling everything down to the binary is slightly idiotic and half the reason we all hate each other so passionately now.

As a side note, Le Pen took her opponent to court for slandering her by calling her a fascist.
She lost.

Actually she took a French comedian to court for calling her a "fascist bitch" in a magazine column. She lost, not because the court agreed that she was a facist bitch but because the court judged that readers would have accepted the comments as being deliberately provocative and because he had insulted other French politicians in the same column.

They don't let facts get in the way of moral supremacy.

Sadly, SG, it's BB who's got his facts wrong this time.
She was suing rival politician Jean-Luc Mélenchon for calling her a fascist - to quote: "Why do you think that the French people would be the only people to want a fascist as a leader?"
The court decided it was fair use of the word.
No comedians were involved.
There may well have been another case - but that wasn't the one I was citing.

Not at all: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/worldviews/wp/2015/03/20/french-courts-yes-its-okay-to-call-marine-le-pen-a-fascist-or-worse/

It won't let me open that link, I'm afraid - so I can't comment
As I said, there may well be another incident - just not the one I was talking about.
If so, neither of has got our facts wrong.
Just different facts.
In which case we can both claim SG's mythical "moral supremacy".

As a motoring correspondent Boris Johnson cost his magazine £4,000 in parking tickets, his former editor has said.

Dylan Jones, who edited fashion and lifestyle magazine GQ for more than two decades until 2021, hired Mr Johnson to work at the title in May 1999.

"There soon appeared to be something of a problem, however, as the managing editor started to get sent rather a lot of parking tickets," Mr Jones wrote in The Sunday Times.

"And when I say a lot, I mean a lot; in Boris's own words, they started accumulating 'like drifting snow on the windshield'.

Mr Jones added: "I once worked out that, over the decade he worked for GQ, Boris had cost us about £4,000 in parking tickets.

Accordings to one of my most trusted sourceseses - though I musts emphasise here it has yet to be verifieds - it wasn't just parties.

They broughts in prostitutists of 128 genders including some from other planets. All of them hads long term Covids when the MPs and Civil Servants had orgiastic relations with them in the No 10s daffodil garden.

Then half the cabinets deliberately injected themselves with the Covid bugs using shared needles just for the hell of it. And to tell everyone elses in the country to sods off.

All is fair in love, war and Commons duels with Boris Johnson, if the claims of Tory MPs are to be believed.

Conservatives have claimed that Labour Deputy Leader Angela Rayner likes to put Mr Johnson 'off his stride' in the chamber by crossing and uncrossing her legs when they clash at Prime Minister's Questions.

The exchanges between Ms Rayner and Mr Johnson - which take place when leader Sir Keir Starmer is absent - have become a highlight of the Commons calendar, pitching the comprehensive school-educated Labour MP against the Old Etonian.

Pmsl!

The piece I read continued by saying that the people who delivered the cars always checked the mileage - and " many, many" times it hadn't changed.
Not exactly in-depth review then.

Tory MPs on three-line whip to distance themselves from the Mail on Sunday smear (although it was supposedly leaked by Tory MPs, according to The Fail)).
Unfortunately they decided to cut and paste the same statement, somewhat taking the edge of their faux outrage.

I had the same problem with a woman manager and her showing off of her cleavage.

She knew it made me get back to work in a dominating way.

It wasn't exactly an erection thing - I don't think these devices in a ridiculously over-ambitious high power at whatever cost office ever applies to the autonomic nervous system in anything other than a semi sense - but rather that I felt my 1940s sense of civility and politeness was being intimidated.

Which was bloody awful as I was carrying the whole history of the real and decent English way on my shoulders - and losing.

Yay exit polls suggest the french say a big Non to xenophobia and bigotry and blaming all its countries woes on 'foreigners' and 'immigrants'
