Everyone's going on about that awful Jimmy Carr ''''joke'''' and the audience reaction... Well, the reaction doesn't mean much because filmed shows always milk the crowd. I'm a huge fan of Jimmy and he's been pushing it for years. In fact, he's the only comedian I've seen who can actually offend me: that 'New Foundation for Battered Wives - Great, Covers Up the Bruises' line was too much even for me... But that's his thing, and he is, in the words of Sylvia Plath, f**king awesome at it. I reckon this is just the woke movement's opportunity - like when the USA went crazy over the Beatles and then ritually burnt the albums over John's 'bigger than Jesus' quip. I didn't like this line either and I don't think it's a particularly clever technique anyway - just say something and then follow it up with the opposite - but after 64976258 awesome gags from Jimmy, I'll forgive him the occasional blurp. I find Mr Moonlight horrible, but I still listen to The Beatles. Jimmy is a f**king legend. And if you hate him, then I kindly ask you to stand up in front of a f**king audience and knock 'em out like Bob Monkhouse on speed for 2 hours. End of.
