Now that is tragic.

Who'd have thought some hay would have been his Mark Chapman?

Now you're just splitting hairs.

Some more good old US police justice. A guy was tazed by the local friendly Bobby for trying to put out his burning home with a garden hose. http://cbs3.com/wireapnewspa/Police.use.stun.2.1899500.html

That's not the way I read it. It said that the police tried and failed to remove the man from the scene of the fire, and were therefore forced to use the stun gun on him for his own safety. What would you have done? I assume that since he remained there with his puny garden hose despite the firefighters having arrived, he must have been in a very confused state, so you wouldn't want to risk him harming himself, and possibly others, too.

What would the cops have done before tazers were invented? Set about him with their nightsticks?

I just think tazers are being massively-overused over there.

How about this one? A kid falls off a bridge and breaks his back. When the cops arrive, he (apparently) starts making incoherent statements like "Kill cops". This of course led the cops to taze him as he lay there crippled. 19 times. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4N7e2FohN4A&feature=related

That clip made me quite angry. 2 minutes 53 secons and you don't see any footage of a broken backed teenager being tazered.

Raped him?

Maybe used my skills learned at police school to physically restrain and remove the guy from the situation without pumping 50,000 volts into him?

I still think you read a different report.
In the one I read, they'd already tried removing him 3 times.

At 7.1 magnitude, the New Zealand quake was larger than Haiti (230,000 dead) and West Sumatra (70,000).The damages caused by the New Zealand quake included a guy's fridge falling over, smashing 36 bottles of Lion Red beer. The huge difference in consequences is that they don't have beer in Pakistan.

far more people die from excessive restraint than tazers, its also far more likely to cause injury

i don't know how@many of us face violence and agression?on a daily basis, but going hands on is never a good or safe option

mind you west yorkshire police@are trialing those funky new shotgun tazer

Sooty, you're becoming increasingly careless in your typing. @s instead of spaces? Try harder!
