I suppose in the good old days people used to check their facts. In the Trumpworld we live in today, they are just plucked out of thin air.
I read the news today oh boy! Page 2,111
Quote: A Horseradish @ 23rd October 2019, 6:10 PMIt amounts to the same thing.
Why is that in 2019 people quibble over every minor detail?
It never used to be like this in the good old days.
Liverpool FC are in trouble after fans at a recent match displayed a poster showing their player and cult hero Divock Origi standing next to the European Cup and holding his impressively large penis in his hand.
The picture is apparently fake but the club is being taken to task because the poster shows what the authorities believe to be a racist stereotype.
I'm not sure I understand the objection in this case: isn't racism, by its very nature, a collection of negative perceptions, opinions and philosophies? Isn't racism, by its very nature, offensive to the race to which those perceptions, opinions and philosophies are related?
In my entire life, I don't think I've ever met a man - black, white or any other colour - who would be offended by the suggestion that he had a big willy.
It's political correctness gone mad!
Zoe Ball is getting a bit of stick for losing a million listeners in the year since she took over from Chris Evans on the Radio 2 Breakfast Show.
This means that Ken Bruce's show is now the most listened-to radio show in the UK.
I'm not surprised: Chris Evans and Ken Bruce are both superb radio show hosts while Zoe Ball is just about okay if you are not put off by her permanently "thrilled to bits" demeanour.
Don't get me wrong: I have absolutely nothing against Zoe Ball - she's a perfectly decent presenter if you give her the right show to present.
But she's not Chris Evans and she's not Ken Bruce.
Talking about women radio presenters, I'll tell you the best one I've ever heard in my life (by a million miles) and that's Liza Tarbuck.
She's stunningly good at the job and she is, in fact, my favourite radio presenter.
I'm also a great fan of her dad!
From the latest Trump speech:
"We are building a wall in Colorado"
Big round of applause from his supporters.

As I pointed out in a recent post on another thread:
Quote: Billy Bunter @ 7th October 2019, 10:28 AMThe definition of "racist" and "racism" has been changed in recent years to suit various agendas.
The correct definitions are being anti- a particular race or showing hatred and animosity to a particular race. Making a joke without any malice is not automatically showing hatred or animosity. Similarly dressing up to honour somebody you particularly admire is clearly not showing hatred or animosity, either to that person or to a race in general (in fact the opposite is true).
As an Evertonian it would never normally defend Liverpool fans and I'm not going to start now either.
Never mind racist lets have it right would you like to take your kid to match or indeed watch it on TV to be shown a mans penis?
Liverpool rightly or wrongly is credited with having funny citizens and that is a point of conjecture as most of us are moaning bastards with a chip on our shoulders .
That being the case I feel it only fair to say that very few Liverpool fans come from Liverpool , I only know two and both of them are in Homes for the feeble minded.
So given this clubs predominately Far Eastern fan base I can only assume this is a culture clash and that the Kopite Lady Boys who made this banner had no intention to offend.
I think many viewers of Doc Martin might agree that the local policeman, as nice as he may be, is nevertheless a bit of a knobhead.
I was put in mind of PC Penhale this morning when I heard that Devon and Cornwall police commissioner Alison Hernandez has urged women who are wolf-whistled in the street to report it to police.
Really?
I mean, really?????????

If you enjoy the well endowed black man trope, Rood Eye, it's still alive and well in pornography.

Thanks for the tip, Chip.
It's not something I enjoy but, if it were my thing, I can assure you my memory banks contain a good many images from the various changing rooms and showers in which I have spent time during my life.
I don't need any reminders from the porn industry, thank you very much.
A short while ago, Meghan Markle complained sadly, "Not many people have asked if I'm okay."
Her half-sister Samantha has responded, "Did you ever ask Dad if he was okay after his two heart attacks?"
I think Jimmy Carr would be proud of that one.
In Arkansas on Tuesday last, a hunter shot a male deer.
As he approached his quarry, which was apparently lifeless on the ground, it promptly jumped up and killed him.
We can't really blame the deer: it probably felt threatened.
Let's hear it for the deer!

That's why you wait a long time and check for signs of breathing before you approach it. Then you poke it with a long stick or throw a rock at it to make doubly certain that it's dead.
The BBC is under fire today after a report revealed that less than half of Britain's 18 to 24 age group tunes into the Beeb at least once every week.
There is a feeling that the BBC is making programmes for posh elderly people in London while ignoring the rest of the country.
Ofcom might be ready to pull the plug on the BBC if it doesn't buck its ideas up.
