Will it be legal to smoke it at home and then go straight out to public places like casinos? Gaming floor takings would go through the roof but so would the all you can eat overheads
If someone is caught by a police officer smoking or selling marjuana in Vegas would that be a misdemeanour or felony? I don't really know the difference apart from a misdemeanour is no more than a slap on the wrist and maybe a fine but a felony can land you behind bars for years. Apologies if I've got that wrong.
I saw a documentory this week about the increase in US police officers opening fire on unarmed, fleeing suspects and not being prosecuted even though there is video footage. Blimming shocking stuff seeing people carrying no weapons being shot in the back multiple times by a police officer simply because they are running away. So much for to protect and to serve

Yes, but it's the tens of thousands of tourists who are the big question, since they don't have a private residence in the city. My assumption is that the cops and casinos will allow it to happen as long as people aren't causing any problems.
From what I've heard, it isn't actually legal for people to stroll around Vegas with alcoholic beverages in hand, but the cops allow it as long as it's in the central tourist areas and the imbibers are acting reasonably. They can still throw the book at anyone who is acting obnoxiously.

Selling would be illegal, but I imagine that someone breaking the rules and smoking in public would be subject to some sort of citation, as long as they only had a small amount on their person. Perhaps a misdemeanor at worst.
Misdemeanors can result in fines, probation and/or a short (less than one year) stay in the county jail. A felony conviction can lead to a long stay in a state/federal prison and the loss of the right to vote or possess firearms.

I don't think that I can remember more than one or two cases where a fleeing, unarmed suspect was shot in the back. It's a very rare occurrence and typically results in a cop joing to jail - especially if there is video evidence. The media would like people to believe otherwise.
What was the name of the documentary, if you don't mind me asking?

Cheers for the info DaButt it's always intersting to learn about life state side and it sounds like it can be very easy to end up doing a stint in jail compared to the UK where suspended sentences are given far too often.
I have to admit that the documentary I referred to was a video I watched on youtube last Saturday when I was stuck at work and trying to pass the time. I can't find it now but it seemed credible and showed video footage of several incidents with narration about what happened in the aftermath. I'm not anti police in any way and have friends in the police who do a hard job but this video had so much video footage it was hard to understand how the officers were not only getting away with any criminal convictions but staying in the job.
Corbyn now trying to incriminate the SAS in his endless fight to subvert his own country which he despises. The maggot wants to be our prime minister and really believes he will be. A strong Tory led British establishment before the internet gave voice to millions of conspiracy theorists and anti British armchair traitors would have let the SAS sort it out themselves. Alas those days have probably gone. But it's still fun to think how they'd go about it.
He doesn't drive so it wouldn't be in a concrete underpass, but maybe a lorry could get careless on his cycle route, nothing suspicious in that. Riddled with bullets on a trip to Venezuela by black clad agents mistaking him for a drugs trafficker? Poisoned herbal tea at his veggie café in Camden? Inhaling Zircon B gas from a nobbled megaphone on one of his marches? Or exploding cabbages on the allotment? Or maybe just mistaken for a piece of refuse and put into council contractor's bin wagon like other tramps sometimes are. Ah, I long for the old days again. Sigh.

I'd be happier if you saved these fates for the Tory government. The bin option would be particularly suitable for the scum they are.
62 year old driver, who had two previous convictions for drink driving, drives his Jag at over 130mph after consuming 10 pints of lager, then crashes into a 22 year old girl in her car............killing her.
Then drives off on three wheels and subsequently arrested.
His punishment? 7 years in prison and a 8 year driving ban...................and here words fail me.
He'll be out in 3 1/2! I think it's time sentences were reviewed. It's incomprehensible that awful crimes result in pitiful sentences.
If it was my 22 year old daughter I'd be happy that he got out after 2 1/2 years...I wouldn't have to wait so long for him...

And I have said all along that judges, magistrates, defence lawyers etc. etc. should be held more accountable when they give light sentences or parole and that person re-offends - it's disgraceful. The whole system stinks!
I see that turd Noye is being sent to an open prison - how long will it be before he's out again? Incredible - he's a vicious thug who should NEVER be allowed out on the streets and ideally should have been hung years ago.

Not an exclusively British problem. We have the same discussion here in Switzerland and Germany, we call it "Kuscheljustiz"...which could be translated as "cuddly justice" or something like that. Rapists and kiddie fiddlers for example get relatively light sentences and a "therapy", get released after 3 or 4 years and do "their thing" again.

It costs more the £40K a year to keep a prisoner in Strangeways, if he was working on the outside, average salaries are £27K, so lost revenue plus cost = big. Also this government has been squeezing prison money, hence resent unrest and pay reviews for prison workers. That said, looking at this guys Wiki page, he's a serial offender, starting at age five, with no suggestion he is the type capable of rehabilitated. So my guess is the open prison is more about money and incentives for good behaviour. He is getting to an age where this turd's ability to commit crime is diminishing.

I'm no expert but I think you need a plumber Herc.
More talk about Tuition Fees and Student Loans. Some will never clear the loan.
So who introduced Tuition Fees?
Oh look. A certain Mr Tony Bliar!
