Well of course they do, they sort of have to. They're a party on the rise, trying to appear clean and credible, and it's hard to deflect negative claims in the media if you allow people who make terrible public statements like some of the members have to actually stay in the party. It turns it into a positive to act so quickly to cut them out.
What I find really amusing is that the anti-fascists are so fixated on UKIP that they're totally ignoring what is happening with the real 'far right'.
The BNP is nearly bankrupt and it's lost thousands of members. 'A-ha!' you cry 'they've all gone to UKIP!' - except it has been made apparently clear that they're not welcome at UKIP and the party is going to great lengths to exclude these members.
So where are they going? They're setting up their own smaller, more violent parties and linking up with Nazis all over the continent - who said European integration was a pipe dream?
