I read the news today oh boy! Page 1,524

I know the anniversary is tomorrow, but I am remembering it today.

It was heartwarming to see the tributes at grounds around the country on Saturday. An acknowledgement that this was a tragedy for the entire football community - indeed, for the entire country.

96 innocent people lost their lives - 38 of them under the age of 20.

Here is the best article I have found on the Hillsborough disaster.

A 42 year old man has been named after he dropped dead on completing the London Marathon. Two years ago, a 30 year old woman died running the London Marathon.

I'm always a bit flabbergasted whenever apparently super healthy people just drop down dead. It's a strange one because sometimes these people had pre-existing conditions and the extreme exercise exacerbated the symptoms. If they hadn't had pushed themselves so hard, they'd still be alive today.

I've always been convinced that it's genetics rather then environmental conditions or lifestyle choices that determines your due date.

Puts me right off exercising.

Oh joy.

Cannot decide if this is a good thing or not.

It is good because anything that opens North Korea up to international scrutiny is a good thing. Anything that introduces North Korean nationals to outside influences is a good thing.

But the relative prosperity of Pyongyang hides the suffering of the rest of the populace. By participating in a marathon, tourists are indirectly endorsing the most brutal regime on the planet.

I hate it when I don't know what I think about something.

Did Kim Jong Oddball complete the course in 54 minutes?

This is his Daddy . . . .

Thousands have donated money to charity on the JustGiving page of a runner who died at the finishing line of the London marathon.

More than £33,000 has been raised in memory of Robert Berry, 42, who collapsed after completing the 26 mile race on Sunday.

It's a terrible irony that people trying to raise money for charities become charity cases themselves, as a direct result of their good intentions. Also, I see two runners died in North Carolina on the same day, so clearly it's a common occurrence; in fact, I think it would be only fitting if there was a charitable run in aid of victims of charity runs, and they could even donate some of the proceedings to any victims of the run itself. It would be lovely to see a runner, dressed as a banana, collapsing in his death-throes, and smiling in the knowledge that his actions in taking part in the race had helped a little to compensate for his folly in taking part in the race.

Laughing out loud Superb! Wish I'd written that now, it seems like something I'd say.

In more Mayoral resigning news, this guy has just quit after he made comments regarding disabled people having sex lives. He was overheard saying "Are we still letting Mongols have sex with each other?"

He refused to apologise after being asked to. Breach your terms of employment, code of conduct whatever in any job and refuse to apologise and you're out. Especially as like a mayor you're the top of the food chain and you report to a committee no organisation can tolerate an unmangeable employee.

Stupid Ancient Sumerian I hope they don't let him breed.

Yep, I agree. What we're seeing on a local government level is the total ageist cleansing of elderly officials. A kind of revisionist cultural revolution where attitudes and expressions from the past are punished by the morals of today.

In ye olden days, if an official came out with a statement like 'I think 13 year old girls should be given free abortions and their parents not informed' - they'd be thrown out of office, but today, they are some sort of champions.

The alleged Muslim plot to remove teachers who didn't agree with their values have spooky similarities to the sackings of the mayors. Not that I in any way condone or agree with what the sacked mayors were saying, just that the tactics are similar.

I dunno I've worked in the care field for years and I've worked with lots of people in their 60s. And most of them can keep their shit look enough to not go

Also there' a big difference between one silly old buffer getting sacked for breaking some completely reasonable rules on professional conduct.
And an apparent plot by some parents to fire teachers.

And morals change all the time, like in any job keep up or get out.
Or you'll be taking your semaphore lamp and typewriter to your first job as a PA.

Making a disparaging reference to Joey Deacon is a violation, of section 23 of BespokeJokeBloke industries code of conduct.

I would like to offer a complete and unreserved apology to anyone I may have offended, any emotional damage done, Joey Deacon and his missing shoe.

I have been a complete Spasmo Jenkins.

With absolutely no proof whatsoever and listening to the voices in my head, I have become convinced that this is a new tactic from Labour central office. If you can't get rid of a Tory through normal political means, then wait for them to slip up over a piece of socially unacceptable language and complain heavily. Become some sort of...PC Brigade! *dum, dum, daaaah*

:O

A marathon runner from Sierra Leone has gone missing! This is shocking, the poor woman could be lost and alone or kidnapped and held prisoner somewhere. Why aren't the police doing more to locate her? Why aren't the public copying and pasting her picture on Facebook and demanding that she is found?

?

Poor woman Sierra Leone has notoriously bad maths educations and she's probably lost count of how far she's fun and is to embarrassed to admit it.
As for the mayor, a political party using existing rules to pressure rivals into retiring. How awful I bet that's never, ever happened before.

basically what you've got is typical parish pump meddling by some parents, who I this case our Muslims. Is it a massive conspiracy to take over the schools of Birmingham or a few disgruntled types. Who knows, I know I don't, but wait to see the result with interest.

Barely a poach, he's been using funds as an MEP to help run his party and paltry figures. It doesn't even come close to the amount MPs were flipping houses over.

This kind of yellow journalism just strengthens, the jovial, racist, piss heads standing.

Although I heard he's riding around Sturminster Newton in a cart pulled by a Somali marathon runner.

Somebody mentioned this on Facebook and I thought it should have pride of place on here.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/women/womens-politics/10767784/UN-Britains-sexism-more-pervasive-than-any-other-country.html

According to a South African lawyer working for the UN, the UK has the most pervasive sexism of any other country she's been to.

So what do you think ladies? Is the UK the most pervasively sexist country? Would you like to pack up your things and move to Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia or even South Africa where the UN advisor is from for a less sexist lifestyle?

Where the UN advisor got her information from is certainly unbiased and not all compiled by single issue feminists. (yeah right!) So she must be correct.
