My old Labrador once jumped at my Aunt's face and chipped her tooth. That shut her up. "No, you sit!"
I read the news today oh boy! Page 149
Quote: Leevil @ June 8 2010, 12:08 PM BSTThat shut her up.
I did read a suggestion that the mother made up the fox because her dog did it.
Which in this case I don't think is true at all! (Besides I don't even know if she had a dog) but I could well believe that people will do that in the future, inspired by this news story.
Quote: zooo @ June 8 2010, 11:48 AM BSTIf one fox attack in hundreds of years of records means we should get rid of them, what does thousands of dog attacks per year mean?
It means there are more city dogs than urban foxes (actually, I have no idea and am only guessing). By all means keep the foxes in the countryside, but be wary of having them breeding and running wild in urban areas. Presumably there are rules regarding dog ownership, such as registering them and having them tied up or indoors or contained within gardens at night and not running wild. Whereas I doubt many people keep foxes as pets.
Foxes were there first, we just built around them. [/hippy]
Thanks to Walt Disney, people think that foxes are cute and cuddly. It's not widely known, but Basil Brush is a convicted rapist. Orville is still receiving counseling.

Quote: Leevil @ June 8 2010, 12:04 PM BSTWhy was the fox put down? I understand this is a really horrible incident but I can't image the same fox doing it again. Unless it's a case of 'Once a mauler, always a mauler'.
I doubt it was even the same fox.

Ah, someone took the hit for him? It's like a whole Mob of foxes.

I actually really dislike Basil Brush. I can well believe he's a wrong'n.
(I did like him when I was little though.)

So that's where "Boom, Boom!" comes from.

Yup, the ole human encroachment on the animals' natural habitat. Why can't we all just learn to live together in peace?

What are you suggesting? A Dingo Fence around London?

Exactly!

If only for the fact that it's called a "dingo fence". Lol, Dingo!

More gamekeepers and more gardeners like Mr McGregor (from Peter Rabbit).

I have always been a huge fan of Basil Brush because when he speaks, he sounds just like Terry-Thomas.
