Maybe a bit too much; in earlier series she had a more geeky appearance which worked for the show.

But wasn't the point that she wasn't a geek? She was a non-geek forced to work in the basement with two uber-geeks?
I think she was supposed to be a bit bungling, but not a geek.
And she didn't know anything about computers when she went for the job "I can send emails, receive emails..." etc. To me that suggests she was meant to be more of an airhead than a geek.
"geek" is perhaps not the right word; "dork" perhaps?
I agree about the premise, but I always thought of her as someone who was anxious not be associated with geeks because she recognised that she was not as cool as she would like to be. Maybe I over-analysing! But she did look too much of a babe this time round.

You're probably right, when you think about the ugly builder not being interested in her I suppose Linehan didn't have her looking fit in mind?
Well the builder actually did say she was nice, IIRC. Just that she wasn't his type. Which I could say to almost all but one (*cough*) of the female members here.
Tee hee. I said members.
Timbo's right though. She wasn't as cool as she'd have liked to have been, and so was reluctant to be stuck with the uber-geeks. She isn't meant to be a stereotypical smokin'-hot-babe (obviously, or they'd have picked someone tall, skinny and blonde for the role ), but somewhere kind of half-way between the two extremes. In other words, a normal person.
If no ones ever seen any, here's a pic from one of the IT Crowd Amercan pilots.
Well ... I guess maybe she plays the character well. Perhaps. :/
Joe McHale, whoo! *Ahem* Moving on....
Quote: Mick Green @ November 22 2008, 12:41 AM GMTReally enjoyed it, though I feel there is room for improvement in subsequent episodes. And Douglas Reynholm is shaping up to be a classic comedy creation.
Yes, but his Dad, what alot more funnier.
It was great!

For me, Chris Morris in series one was great, but Matt Berrys character is in another, crazy league altogether. I think his comic persona deserved a great sitcom, and he's been successfully inserted into one.
I thought Chris Morris was badly miscast in the first series, which is to say they should have cast someone who could act. Matt Berry is much more fun.
Douglas > Denholm
Not done Maths since I passed it at GCSE, but remember to think of Pacman when dealing with inequalities, but forgotten, what does that sign mean, better or worse.
