Due to the sport overrunning, the concluding part of our acclaimed ten part drama series will start slightly later than billed. Freeview viewers who are recording the series, and who have had the foresight to activate the offset feature, might still be hoping there is a chance that, if the programme starts right now, the playback will not cut out just as the key plot point is about to be revealed. So before the programme begins, here are five minutes of trailers for forthcoming programmes.

GRAMS: BBC swimming hippos music.

But first an unnecessarily long channel ident. Featuring hippos. Synchronised swimming.

What they ought to do is drop the next programme, and show fillers until the programme after that can start on time. The dropped programme should then be rescheduled. But no! Instead they just show everything late so your recordings are cocked up.

Oops, sorry, just noticed that this is in critique, not general discussion! Not having a good day today!

I like a bit of satire, and you're probably right, they would do that just to cock things up.

It's good but slightly over-explained. I'd cut a bit out of the middle. Something like this:

"Due to the sport overrunning, this concluding episode of the BBC's critically acclaimed ten part drama series will start slightly later than billed. For those viewers who have recorded this and are now worried that the playback will cut out five minutes before the end, here is a needlessly long channel ident followed by five minutes of programme trailers. Enjoy."

Sounds a little too much like you're trying to get a point across. (That comment may need a little more explaining on my part. May re-edit this later)
