Miss Twigg, an evil spinster-cum-primary school teacher, 1979. I was 8 and she was about 70. She used to throw wooden blackboard rubbers at us and scared us to death. But I was her favourite, and she used to hug me and pull my face into her voluminous saggy bosoms. It felt like slamming your face into rancid blancmange. She smelled of death and cigarettes and lavender. She still haunts my nightmares. She looked a bit like this:

I used to have a history teacher that would get up and kick the blackboard every time you got him angry. Literally hoof it as if it was a football.
And I had a science teacher who had two catchphrases that he would repeat throughout the whole lesson:
"If not, why not?"
and
"The worst you can be is wrong!"
Another teacher classic is "If no one puts their hand up, I will just choose at random....." 
We had a trainee French teacher (who actually was French) for a while, and if we were being noisy (quite a lot of the time, because she was so shit), she'd just write "silence" on the board, then stand there completely still with her back to it, just looking out at us and pointing to the word.

We had a french teacher who would say silence in french which doesn't sound too different from silence in english, all we'd do was shout what? And continue to dick about.
And I'm not proud of this, but I made her cry one lesson... maybe I'm a little proud... 
I'd feel bad if I made a teacher cry!
