I'm not sure setting up his own company is his style. He just wants to write his own stuff, not nurture talent. That's the impression I get.

He seems far to lazy and selfish to run a company that is there to bring on others. Not a criticism.

Golly, I'd hate to hear what you say when you do criticise someone.

There are other reasons to set up production companies rather than to nurture new talent. One is to ensure that you produce all your own stuff and have total control over the type of directors, actors etc you work with.

Yeah, I don't think he'd be interested in doing that.

But it would be great for us viewers.

Except it would mean he wouldn't have time to write TV of his own... which would be bad.

He doesn't care about TV anymore.

(Did he ever?)

Yes he does!

He said he other day on something..

I just read an article today about how he was planning a sitcom offshoot of his next film. Sometimes you just say things for the sake of saying them, Aaron.

The One Show?

You know me so well.

God, I hope not.

The One Show?

I can't remember!

Maybe.

Gotta face facts.

But not Seefacts.

Him and Merchant will be do more stuff for TV I reckon. I don't think even Gervais could do comedy movie after comedy movie after comedy movie, successfully.

TV comedians should only be allowed to make one film every 5 years.

Selfish bastards.
It might be fun for them, but we want more TV dammit!

I can't remember what recent TV programme it was, but Ricky Gervais said he wanted to do more stand-up. :S

Mmmm. I hope we haven't lost Pegg to films, although I fear we might. Coogan doesn't really excel at either films or TV nowadays. Gervais's movies have been so-so, but I think he'll keep coming back to TV as, so far, that's where he's picked up the most plaudits.
