Pinky & Perky

Probably before most people on here's time, but these entertainment legends are back on CBBC today at 5.45.

In the newspaper it said they performed with the Beatles, Tom Jones & Frank Sinatra. In one year in Vegas they appeared more times than Sinatra, Elvis & Sammy Davis jr combined. They did 11 shows at the London Palladium, and appeared on Ed Sullivan 6 times. 15 million people watched them on TV. They made 16 albums, and sold millions.

The new show is animated, with Kevin Bishop being one of the voice artists.

Worth a watch? Might as well give it a go and see.

They're the sort of act that, as a kid, you like for about the first minute and then realise they're really boring and annoying.

Ugh. I'll give it a go, but 3D animation. Doesn't sound promising.

You may be right, I'm not impressed with the photo in the newspaper. I thought they were great back in the 60s when I was a child and they were wooden puppets. I wonder if the voices will be the same? Mark Perry is doing another voice, and some of the writers of Green Wing and Smack the Pony are working on it.

Oh, it's set in Yankland. Great. Unimpressed

Have you seen the new ones? They look like Ant and Dec.

Ant and Dec...? :S

If you say so!

To me they do!

I can see them laughing at Paul Burell doing a bushtucker trial.

Why is Pinky and Perky "worth giving a go"? What are you possibly expecting that it might turn out to be?

Well that first episode had at least one writer of Green Wing and Smack The Pony. Looks like there is some actual 'talent' being put into it.

And was actually surprisingly good, for an animated childrens' show.

Absolutely right! They could have done it live-action. P&P - The Movie starring Ant & Dec.

It was ok, a couple of good laughs, bearing in mind it wasn't aimed at adults. I'll give it a few weeks and see how it goes.
