Mmm pie. Page 2

I've never had a steak and kidney pie. I came thiiiis close last summer when I was in London. My 2 Londoner pals ordered 3 pies and then balked when they were told the price. We left rather hastily as the Polish pub worker spewed insults from her pretty lips.

Never had another chance for a pie. :(

I've never had one either. :)

No pies, no beer ... tell me that you've eaten fish and chips at least once or I'm having you deported.

No pies and no beer make for sophistication rather than knuckle-dragging mindlessness.

;)

Too right.

Beer and pies make me think of Peter Kaye. Or Johnny Vegas (pre weight loss).

Shut up Aaron and Zoo. Someone mail DaButt a steak & kidney.

Mississippi mud pie for me. Two please.

Rhubarb is best in a crumble, where the extra sweetness takes the edge off; but I do like an apple pie.

Steak pies are wonderful, in an ale gravy, maybe with mushroom; but my mum put me off kidney as a child, when she casually remarked that they tasted of their function... Shortcrust is much preferable to flakey, but both pale compared to marvel that is a suet pudding.

Chicken pie is also good, either with asparagus or mushroom. Or eaten cold, chicken and ham. A proper Melton Mowbray pork pie also has its merits.

I remember introducing an American companion to the joys of meat pies while travelling in New Zealand; for him it was a moment like first gazing into Chapman's Homer...

No one has mentioned mince pies yet have they??

I kinda like them. I'm not one of those people who hates them. Pleased

Oh yay!
I LOVE them!

Mince pies, yummm...why do people only eat them at Christmas?

I like mince pies, but I'm too scared to try any that I haven't made myself.

They're all slightly different too. One could become a connoisseur.

My parents get me to bake them all year round, actually. At random juntures I'll be pushed into the kitchen on duty.

My mum makes the world's best mince pies. :D

But she never makes enough. :(

Apart from mine. Obviously.
