Hotel Babylon

I know it's not a sitcom but HB has some really good comic performances. As a result I have not been watching Bonkers (which didn't start too badly and I would have probably watched it otherwise) or Stress Anger (or whatever).

Mark Heap was brilliant tonight - a great actor as well as his Green Wing character. Last week David Walliams also was good.

To some extent I do prefer Comedy Dramas such as this and Minder, Auf Wiedersehn, Cold Feet etc to some of the cliched new "comedies" which really aren't original.

I have to say, I do love Hotel Babylon. I can't quite decide why, but it amuses me. Quite a lot. And yes, it does have some brilliant comic performances and cameos. Some brilliant timing on Mark's part last night, and a very good portrayal of the character, I thought. Can't wait for the next episode. :)

Dexter Fletcher *thumbs up*

i can't personally see the attraction but i still watch it, i sit there saying "ow this is crap, i could pull a better show out of my arse" but i still go back and keep watching it, but yet moan at it, i like it, but i could still pull a better show out of my arse, i'm confused

i screamed- mark heap :D just so you know i have injured my head and so apologise for anything stupid i say

I doubt there'll be a noticeable difference...

thank you :D but it's true

How did this become "Foreign"?

Ummmmmmmmmmmmm! My Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is a better actor than most of the numnuts in this. (You should see him when he is pretending it wasnt him that went in the bin, oscar performo)The script is appaling. I have not laughed at anything other than in a cringey this is shit kind of way. I watch 3 minutes of it every week, just to remind myself that while shit like this is being made and televised, there is hope for my shit.
Sorry for the over zealous use of shit, but in all honesty, its not a sitcom, maybe a shitcon, its a dire drama. Each to their own though, but in my opinion its a big pile of steaming shit.

Wave

What's the premise for HB? I haven't seen it but have read a fair bit of (good) comment about it online. Is it a culty type thing?

Heap's brilliant in everything - Jam, Spaced, Green Wing, et al.

Premise: Five star luxury hotel in Central London and the crazy stuff that happens therein.

How did this become "Foreign"?

No idea. I probably pressed the wrong button.

I really enjoyed the first series. Dexter Fletcher as Tony was very good. But I think this second series isn't as good. Rebecca is leaving at the end of the series.

I loved that creepy episode in the first series when there was a murder. It was when there was only one guest in the hotel and Emma Pierson and Max Beasley where the only staff there and she thought the guest had killed his wife. I was on the ege of my seat!

Good to see it back tonight. Maria McErlane on - first time I've seen her for years. Emma Pierson was good looking after Maria's dog and then rescuing it from a washing machine.

Emma does make the show really - she always plays the same kind of part but no-one else can.

Nothing ground breakingly hilarious but enjoyable (pass the sick-bag I hear you say)but looks like Emma going to be a fairy next week. Worth watching.

Another brilliant performance from Emma Pierson this week. She really does make the show.

"I think I'm going to be sick." Laughing out loud
