'Outnumbered' has just shown 'The Royle Family' and 'Victoria Wood's Mid-Life Christmas' how to do a Christmas special properly - 40 mins long and not one minute wasted!

Johnny!
For god's sake.
Three times?
I liked it, but I didn't really laugh that much, not as much as previous episodes anyway. Still very enjoyable though, but not enough jokes and too much chatting with the adults.
First time I've actually sat and watched an entire episode of Outnumbered from beginning to end. Not really my kind of comedy, but enjoyable nonetheless and it certainly had bags and bags of charm.
I can understand why people like it so much, it's well put together and there is great chemistry between the cast. What I don't understand is why this kind of family friendly schmaltzy stuff wasn't on prime time Christmas Day?
Not that I wish to encourage Johnny Spam's multiple postings, but it really was miles better then a lot of the Christmas specials that were on this year - and I don't even like it that much.
A pretty good episode, though it did just feel like any other episode, as opposed to a 'special'. Whatever one of those should feel like.
Because the *removed for sense of diplomacy*.
The 'Outnumbered' Christmas Special 2009 is as fine a piece of TV comedy as I've seen in 2009.
Hugely intelligent writing, first-class cast, excellent acting and superb production values.
Could anyone ask for more? Possibly, but only if he/she were an extremely greedy bastard.
A very Happy New Year to all concerned with 'Outnumbered'!
You're the saviours of BBC comedy.
Yep, why was it on at 10.30pm on the day after Boxing Day?
Grandad's friend did the same grace my dad always insists on saying before meals.
Good stuff indeed. Surely deserving of a better slot.
"He's not allowed to come in. He's not an asylum seeker and he's got no pants on."
Haha.
I really enjoyed that Christmas special! Brilliant episode.
Hasn't Jake grown up? I don't want Karen to grow up. She's too cute.
Yeah, Jake's gone all deep voiced and sulky.

I'm told that they wanted to record 2 series at once for this very reason. But that daft bi- bird, who was in charge of BBC comedy, refused.
It will lose it's "spark" once the kids become too aware of what they're saying.
