Just had my first group of trick-or-treaters:
1 Pink Power Ranger
1 Baby Wolfman
1 Mama Witch
I answered the door with a can of Guinness in hand and The Pogues on the stereo. Bad form?

Not at all.

Thanks for the affirmation. The rest of the neighborhood seems to be sitting outside on chairs and generally acting familial. I'm the weird old guy with the big house and no (small) kids and I was worried that I wouldn't fit in.
I didn't get a single one this year. A few years ago, I was getting local kids knocking at my door all night, but they've all got too old for it now.
Hmm, there seems to be a Sexy Witch standing in the middle of the cul-de-sac. Perhaps I should investigate ...
70 kids in the last 5 minutes. I guess I should have expected it in a family neighborhood. CANDY SUPPLY = LOW.
What time is it there?
7:20 in the evening. Easily 200 kids so far and easily more visitors than I've had in the last 15 years combined.
Best costume so far: a 4-year-old boy dressed as Ozzy.
I've had 3 kids come to the door tonight. And they were together.
I've moved outside with my laptop. It's a kid tsunami.
Sounds so much more fun in America.
The British are too miserable and cynical to do Halloween properly.

Even the coldest hearts melt this time of year. I'm having a great time.

Probably helps if you can sit outside though.
It's 24C at the moment. Very nice, indeed.

You're so weird. It's just not a British "thing".
