Shocked! 60 years old. Thanks for all the laughs, Mel.

I know I could not believe it. rest in peace, Mel

RIP. :(
I walked past him once in the corridor at uni. I still don't know why he was there but he looked very jolly and it made our week.

Aside from NTNOCN, liked him in an episode of Minder, where he played an unsavory character named Cyril Ash.

Morons from outer space and the tall guy were

People stop dying already

Sad news indeed.

Sootyj, when you ran that funeral parlour , how did you answer the phone?

People stop dying already

Very sad and very shocking. Not The Nine O'Clock News was obviously great, but I was a huge fan of Alas Smith and Jones, especially the head to heads.

Sad news. Apparently he was on 50 Nurofen a day for stomach ulcers in 1999. I wouldn't have wanted his ill health or indeed his money but am grateful for the laughs.

Oh, another thread on that topic. Again, I'm very sad about that news. RIP Mel, you made me laugh!

Sorry I didn't realise there was already a thread about Mel. If it wasn't for Smith and Jones I probably wouldn't have got into comedy. R.I.P. Mel.

I know a lot of people dislike it, but there is still a very special place in my heart for Bean: The Movie (which Mel directed).

R.I.P. Mr Smith. :(

Yes I really like that film

The second one was beyond atrocious

My uncle once appeared in an advert with Mel. He also attended his wedding.
