David Smith Syndrome strikes again. :)

You have Extras on there twice.

I should become a proof reader, or mod, or something.

What I find funny is that it manages to rise/fall in your rating simultaneously.

Nothing scientific.
I disregarded Kenneth's list of his bottom 20, but added 5 points to Red Dwarf anyway, bloody idiot!!! :-P

Thanks Chop, those are rather interesting results indeed!

Compare to the nationwide 2004 Top 50 Sitcoms results. Very similar top few!

Oh yeah! Wow that would have saved me a lot of time! hahaha

Honestly I'm just trying to catch up. I haven't seen most of these shows. I discovered Gavin and Stacey last night, and then I watched Max and Paddy's Road to Nowhere, absolute pissers!!

A lot of these shows seem very dated to me. I don't get the fuss over Only Fools and Horses. What episode should I start with?

The first one. :)

1.The Likely Lads/Whatever Happened To The Likely Lads?
2.Only Fools And Horses
3.Men Behaving Badly
4.'Allo 'Allo!
5.My Family
6.Not Going Out
7.The Good Life

9.Drop The Dead Donkey

17.dinnerladies
18.Mind Your Language
19.One Foot In The Grave
20.Doctor In The House

Great, varied selection!

Thanks. I felt I had to balance old with new. It's harder than it seems. I did a top 100 after reading Jack's but don't like a lot of my bottom 10 or so really.

Some shows (e.g. My Family) are higher than necessary because of a nostalgic edge which may seem odd but, as a child I had to wait each year for a new series while the oldies I could watch uninterupted from DVD

I can't believe how many of these shows mentioned around here I'd never even heard of. I've got a lot to learn!

Half of the sitcoms listed are shockers. Things like On the Buses might have been slightly amusing at the time, but I think people are looking at things like that and The Good Life through rose tinted glasses as they just don't stand up today unlike timeless comedy such as Only Fools, Porridge, Blackadder etc.

Anyway, here's my list of top 10 UK -

1 - Blackadder
2 - Porridge (perfectly written, perfectly cast)
3 - Only Fools And Horses
4 - Steptoe And Son
5 - Red Dwarf
6 - Peep Show
7 - Alan Partridge
8 - Black Books
9 - Open All Hours
10 - Father Ted

U.S Top 10 -

1 - Cheers
2 - Seinfeld
3 - Curb Your Enthusiasm
4 - The Office
5 - Frasier
6 - Mash
7 - The Golden Girls
8 - Arrested Development
9 - Taxi
10 - The Cosby Show

On The Buses stands up perfectly well if it's to your sense of humour, Nick.
