Greek salad and gyros!

Image

Gyros with tzatziki. And kleftiko, moussaka, pastitsio, pitta with hummus, yiaourti and bavlava for pudding.

Greeks do it better. Maybe not the economy..but definitely food. And women.
:)

I do like a simple snack of hummus and pitta bread.

If it'll fit in my cake hole

S'all good

What is sussex pond?

It's a suet pastry dish, (suet being the fat that you get around internal organs Sick ) from which oozes a caramel so sugary it virtually corrodes your teeth out. It's called a pond because that really sells it, the association with being stagnant and murky, doesn't it?

Enjoy!

one of my favourite things is Indian pakora. I'm told you don't get these in England but I swear half the population of Scotland could survive on pakora alone.

I love Chinese. But I've still probably not tried 90% of it.

Golly - Chinese food. Well, it's cheap on the mainland, and the booze is cheap too. But the food doesn't resemble much of the "Chinese restaurants" you get in the West. Chili cockles. Turtle's head soup. Duck heads and beaks. Duck necks. Chicken hearts. Cow tongue. Etc. But those are all delicacies. The best thing is a bamboo platter of steaming hot dumplings - dirt cheap and tasty.

No, I'm quite sure I wouldn't like 'proper' Chinese food!
I do like dumplings though, yum.

Albeit of late my hood has been inundated with excellent Ethiopian restaurants. I wimp out of the raw beef with clarified butter;

In traditional Ethiopian cuisine the steak would have been cut from the live animal and served while it was still warm...

David Cameron let Alexander salmon eat them all
