Misheard Song Lyrics

There must be loads of them.

A mate of mine thought that in the Sham 69 song the line was ....

"I've got a hairy camel" instead of

"Hurry up Harry , come on".

When I was a kid, I was convinced the line in Bohemian Rhapsody,

"Mama, just killed a man."

Was actually,

"Mama, just killed a bear."

Much to my brothers annoyance, which actually fuelled me to carry this on, long after I realised I was in fact wrong.

I always thought AC/DC's Dirty Deeds main lyrics were "Dirty Deeds and the dunder chief" when it's "dirty deeds and they're done dirt cheap".

The Kaiser Chief's I Predict A Riot title line I thought was 'Angry Tourettes' until I found out what it was called. That sounds ridiculous but if you listen to the song, you'll know what I mean.

Dan

I thought Town called Malice was a Clown called Alice, for years & years.

going back years, to when Ghostbusters first came out, and I was very young, I actually heard the song before I'd heard about the film, and I thought Ray Parker JR. was saying "Who ya gonna call? Those Bastards!"

Laughing out loud

maisydotes and dosydotes and lidlelamsiedivy
that should have been

#Mares eat oats and Does eat oats and little Lambs eat ivy#

I know, that's going back to the 40s!!!

Song 2, Blur "I lie and I'm easy" I thought was "A lion amazing!"

Two of my favourites are:

'Go and get stuffed!' instead of 'Going gets tough' by Billy Ocean

and the king of misheard lyrics:

'Every time you go away, you take a piece of meat with you' by Paul Young

Hold me closer, Tony Danza.

'Won't you ride on time'

I thought was

'An orangutan'

I thought in Art-I-Ficial by X-ray Spex, it went "I wanna be instamatic, I wanna be a frozen pea..."

...Then I found out it actually does...

My wife has a habit of telling me alternative lyrics to songs and forever more I cannot hear the original song as intended.

KT Tunstall did a song called 'Suddenly I see' which has the lyrics:

Suddenly I see (Suddenly I see)
This is what I wanna be
Suddenly I see (Suddenly I see)
Why the hell it means so much to me

What I now hear is:

It's Leigh-on-Sea (Leigh-on-Sea)
This is where I wanna be
It's Leigh-on-Sea (Leigh-on-Sea)
Why the hell it means so much to me

[sigh]

I heard the very same thing and I had no idea what it was about. Still don't really.
