Short Com - Call For Entries Fringe Programme

This is a call for entries for the funniest independently made short comedy films for 2013!
Short Com is a film programme specified to the art of independently made short comedy films. The mission for Short Com is to unearth, celebrate and promote the DIY ethic of filmmakers and comics who go it alone to make people smile, via the best way possible, by putting selected films onto a big screen in front of a live audience.
Short Com is not-for-profit organisation run by various volunteers. It also supports the male suicide prevention charity CALM, with the end of year aim to raise £1000 for the charity. Short Com aims to become a popular platform for short comedy filmmakers, to be a window to new audiences and the industry. It's longer term goals are to run industry events and mentorship programmes for comedy and film in Scotland.

Instead of being a one off festival, Short Com operates through out the year showcasing in many major UK cities to reach wide audience potential. Most excitingly, Short Com will be making its Edinburgh International Fringe Festival debut this year for a full run as part of the PBH Free Fringe! Our dates are 4-9th 11-16th 18-23rd. That is a massive international audience potential.

Later in the year Short Com will make it's London debut on the 4th and 5th of October at the Pleasance Islington. There are also proposed showcase dates later in the year to take place in Manchester, with an annual best of awards ceremony in Edinburgh.

Film submissions are free with a voluntary donation. We respect that filmmaking can be an expensive process and even entering films into various festivals can be expensive, but every voluntary donation helps with widening Short Com's reach and goals and helping the charity. The most important thing about what Short Com selects in a film is it's potential to make people laugh or smile. This includes live action, animation and machinima. Of course there are certain rules and stipulations as to what can be selected, guidelines and submission rules can be found on the current site. http://www.shortcom.co.uk/Shortcom/Submit_Contact.html
