British Comedy Guide

A lot has happened in six months

Evening All

It's been just over 6 months since I released my comedy book series on Amazon and I just thought it might be worth sharing the small amount of success that I have had.

I basically started writing a book while commuting, in order to prove how much time people waste by sleeping on their commute. It was a kind of "Look what I did while you were asleep" kind of a challenge and initially, it was for my own amusement.

But, as my wife and a few others began to read my ramblings (It's essentially a diary of my life and what goes on in my head) they said that I should get it properly edited and published.

So, in short, I did just that. I decided to release it in four parts, meaning that the first part was released just before Christmas (ready for the kindle market) and I got a couple of people I knew to edit it and design the cover (on back end payaway deals)

I was amazed to see that it managed to reach number #38 in the overall Kindle charts for the UK (Out of over a million books) and was featured on the front page of Amazon as well as being the #1 book in humour and also biographies.

I've gone on to sell nearly 40,000 copies since it was released and am almost in a position where I can make writing my full time career. (I've got two more books lined up and have meetings scheduled with two large publishers)

So the reason for my post is not to show off; far from it, it's to thank those on this forum that have given me constructive critisism through the critique section in the past and also to remind those that post their work on here to follow up on that and make sure that other people get to see it too.
