Afternoon you beautiful lot.
I've decided that before I hit thirty I'm going to try stand up. I have worked on what a charitable man might call a set, and I'm quite confident I have a half decent 5-10 minutes.
But I'm having trouble finding open mics in Cardiff. Are there any events or venues that would allow a unknown to try out?
My physical appearance is that of a caveman so when I offer my set to strangers in the street I'm usually rebuked.

The open mic scene in Cardiff is difficult. The best place to try new stuff is "Drones Comedy Club" @ Chapter Arts, Canton, Cardiff. They do nights every 2 weeks on Fridays. The crowd are very kind and patient with new acts. The only thing is they are so kind that when you do go into a more hostile environment its a lot more difficult!
If you feel you are good enough to take it to the next stage then enter the WUSA competition in 2014. Its the only one they have in Wales, and attracts some strong attention.
You can, also, try and e-mail The Glee Club, Cardiff but they ask if you have any experience and if you don't then they might not try you.
