It's on my bucket list. Mind you, from your description, I might need to take an actual bucket with me.

Don't know them yet. Sounds like I must check them out.

Late 70s, early 80s. A Stiff act so if you like Stiff you'll love them. As far as I'm concerned their third album was brilliantly produced pop songs - in the best way.

Stiff records had many great artists under contract. Costello, Lowe, Edmunds, Pogues...even a Swiss band, Yello.
Glad to see Amazon has some Any Trouble CDs.
Yello were brilliant too.
Bought this today. I wanted it since it came out in 2011 but I didn't want to pay the full price. Finally found it in a bargain bin.

Is that before he started singing?
No, it's his first two solo albums on one CD. Original mono recordings.

Oh - I saw the bang years bit.
With "solo" I do mean his first albums as a singer (not only songwriter).
Damn! Only just found out about this and it's sold out already!

Quote: Chappers @ June 24 2013, 8:52 PM BSTAny Trouble produced some really are some fantastic (power pop?) songs that really should've been hits. "Trouble with love" for instance. And then they moved to EMI America so someone really thought they were due some success. However Clive Gregson never fitted the pop star mould although he could really rock with the best of them and decided to become a folkie where he finally got some respect.
Thanks for this Chappers. Never even heard of them before. Absolutely brilliant. Very similar sound to early Elvis Costello.
Can't believe I'd never heard of them!
If you like early Elvis C., then check this out too. I posted it about 6 weeks ago in the "What are you whacking off listening to now?" thread.

Cheers George. I enjoyed that. They're not the Corrs though.
