To be honest, I actually find his (faux or otherwise) arrogance refreshing. When Keira Knightley, hotly tipped for an award, said something like: "I'm so glad I haven't a chance of winning anything tonight because I can relax and bask in everyone else's glory" I nearly projectile vomited. She didn't win anything in the end so her wish came true. Ha. I find all the false modesty sickening.
I find her face sickening. And the fact that she's still somewhat attractive, sickening too. I also think she likes to do a lot of sickening herself.

But yes Keira. I'm not a big fan either. She can't help her face though. : ) Although if she did a bit less sickening it might look a bit more human.

I agree, RG is the only one breaking the mould in all this happy-back-slapping that some people want to see to infinity. Better to have one trick in public speaking than none.

Dont know if anyone read gervais in the new Radio Times, but he, quite clearly, states that the arrogant things he says at award ceramonies are for comic effect only, as an opposite to the fake humble speeches of everyone else. Now Gervais may have a big head, and who could blame him with what hes achieved, but theres an answer to whether hes joking or not straight from the horses mouth. I still find it hard to believe that anyone would think he would actively put himself across as an arrogant prick in every tv appearance for anything other than comic effect, that would make him an idiot.
