This is going to sound a really odd request under the circumstances but I wonder if you good people wouldn't mind doing me a little favour.
My wife is 40 tomorrow and to be frank there's not a great deal I can do to adequately mark the occasion. You may wonder why I would want to do this when we are in the process separating but she's a good person that needs some cheer at a difficult time.
Please pay a visit to the Facebook page and give it a like and leave a greeting, a joke, a link to a funny video etc in the hope of making her smile. Then, when you've done that, share it on your wall to see if we can get word to spread.

The About section of the page says the following:
The 20th of June is my wife Jo's 40th birthday. Like many people we've had a very difficult time of late and being able to mark the occasion in a way that I would like has sadly proved beyond me.
Some years ago Jo said that it was her dream to visit New England during the fall but even knowing this well in advance hasn't made arranging such a trip possible - I simply haven't been able to afford it. It is perhaps ironic that Peterborough, the UK city where we live, has a district called New England but that's looking like as close as we'll get right now.
So why have I set up this page? Well, the purpose is purely to make the day as memorable for Jo as possible. If I can make this page go viral and people all over the world were to send in birthday messages, video clips, jokes and greetings etc it would just make her day just that bit more fun and different than the norm. It's not much but hopefully it would make her smile and that's something everybody needs.
I am aware that this could backfire and that very few people look at the page. It may even lead to some messages of a less cheery nature but I have confidence in the world at large. There is good in the world and I truly believe that a minute of your time and a kind word can do wonders.
Jo recently undertook a child psychology course and she set herself a goal of passing it by the time her birthday came round. She did this within three months and passed with a distinction. She has done a lot of voluntary work and teaches English to adult speakers of other languages and also runs a childcare group.
She loves the work that she does but as yet she has been unable to secure a job despite trying exceptionally hard. She so deserves a chance - if she gets one she will prove that life really can begin at 40.
So there you have it - the ball is now in your court. I'm not looking for a million likes (though that would be nice), I'm just hoping to tap into your abilities to make people smile and click the share button to spread the word. If nothing else it would be fun to watch how things develop.
