The Show What You Wrote Page 37

According to the Radio Times people were writing clips, not sketches, not sure how you do that...

They also complained it wasn't proper members of the public but professional writers, have you read anything from members of the public*?

*This post for one thing...

Where did you see these comments from the radio times?

On the Wednesday page I think...

I tell a lie; Thursday.

See Radio Times, anyone can do your job!

And special mention to JohnnyD that is literally a 1 in 1000 achievement!

Thanks, Stephen. I make it about 250 sketches/broadcast sketch.

However, being so parsimonious with my submissions has probably ruled me out of getting any exciting 'We like your stuff/Come to a workshop' emails.

And, here's the Programme Info: http://www.bbc.co.uk/mediacentre/proginfo/2013/26/r4-the-show-that-you-wrote.html

Badge was on that writers link
Well done him for making the edit as well
* goes to check Absent friends thread

As well as inexperienced writers they also have Gyles Brandreth...

Hey, hi

So good to see some fellow STFuW losers. Mine was a dozen linked sketches - plus terrible gags at the end. A total fail. Check out the first one (as a radio skit? Such an idiot.) All 2012 vintage really - so much better, now.

G5.Dr. Who at Buckingham palace receiving gong, but everything is not as it seems.
Queen: Exterminate
Doctor: Expeliarmus, your majesty. <Waves wand>
Queen crumbles to dust, as drinks cupboard doors swing wide open and queen mother corpse wheels like remote control toy, wide brimmed hat, top half poking from shopping trolley, saliva drips. Rips off face, she is Davros.
OPENING CREDITS. Delia Derbyshire music dadumdadaumdadumdadum

G6.Balding and Lineker to be Executed.

G7.Geef, that cauliflower cheese was inspirational, and Andy Murphy in the tennis final, just brilliant. Life doesn't get much more affirming.

G8.Local News

'And in other news...a man was arrested today for looking at women's bottoms in Asda. Here's Jenny with the weather.'

'Thank you, Derek.'

These were some of the gags - on about page 40. I pretty much sent them my life story. Never replied, the bitches. They have a blog, you can leave hatemail.

First clip released from the show:

Hats off to Andy for making the trailer! And looks like episode 1 is going to be broadcast on 27th June.

Is there meant to be a trailer in that link Stephen? can't find it.

Well done Badge!

Ah copied the wrong link. Here it is:

Very nice sketch, I really liked that concept. OK, I saw the punchline coming, but that just proves how clever I am. ;)

Great stuff.

Loved the sketch. Well done!

a new clip (I think).

First episode tonight!

Seems to be quite heavy on the film parody front so far...and I was pretty sure that was something they said they didn't want to do on the show.
