They're one of those bands so famous for one song.

I saw them support Bowie once and I don't think I know anything except Bohemian like you.

Thanks, Chappers! That's really helpful. Laughing out loud

Imo their first four albums are all pretty good.
Dandys Rule OK (1995)
The Dandy Warhols Come Down (1997)
Thirteen Tales From Urban Bohemia (2000)
And the other one I already mentioned.

When was the Bowie gig? It wasn't Tin Machine, was it? Would that even count? ;)

That would be Wembley Arena on the night my son graduated but my daughter had bought me Bowie tickets for my birthday. That would be - um...

about 2002?

Yeah, they even supported Bowie in Switzerland. I saw them on the very same tour. It was 2003 or 2004.

Bowie lives in Switzerland, doesn't he? Maybe he likes the chocolate? :)

You probably know this song by them too.

Not the most subtle and tasteful video ever, but lots of fun.

He used to live in Switzerland in the 80s. But I think he lives in New York now.

At least I'm only about 25 years behind the times then. :$

Watching the History of the Eagles Pt 1.

Great quote from Joe Walsh: "one of the most terrifying things that ever happened to me was that Keith Moon decided he liked me." Laughing out loud

Some people would say, that openly admitting to like Joe Walsh (or any other member of the Eagles) makes you really uncool. So, Keith Moon should have been the one to be terrified. ;)

In this picture Walsh is strangely looking like Jackie Stewart (with a moustache).

The Eagles are great! I openly admit that I like them inc. Joe. :D

Some great footage in the documentary, and interviews. I'd never seen what Glyn Johns looked like, for example, or seen him interviewed before. Nice footage of Linda Ronstadt. Lots of Jackson Brown info.

Re: Jackie Stewart, I bet Joe probably raced a few cars in his time too. ;)

Glyn Johns

His son Ethan produced "Rainy Day Music" by the Jayhawks (among other contemporary rock/country/alternative albums).

I'm not their biggest admirer (although I have all their albums, but I'm a record/rock music-junkie, so that's a different story), but this whole cool/uncool-labelling is...well...uncool. Everone should be allowed to openly like whatever he wants (Except for "talent show music").

That said, I'd prefer the music of Jackson Browne or Loggins & Messina when it comes to that 70s soft rock faux country rock genre.

But if you want to hear "real" country rock then I'd suggest Neil Young, Byrds, Poco, early CSNY, Doobie Brothers or the mighty Grateful Dead (especially American Beauty and Workingmans Dead).

Glynn Johns produced Ryan Adams' "Ashes and Fire" a couple of years ago, a wonderful album by one of my favourite artists. He's got some cv.

Yup, he has.

I'm a big Neil Young fan btw.

Wondering whether I should try and catch his latest UK tour, though it's probably sold out by now, and I'm not really into stadium gigs.
