I really enjoyed festivals when I was in my late teens and early twenties, but yesterday reminded me why I got fed up of them and stopped going.
I went to see Oasis at Finsbury Park many years ago and I imagine their crowd is much the same as The Stone Roses e.g. pissed, fighting lads chucking bottles of piss everywhere.

Two groups of drunk 'lads' squared up to each other in front of me within ten minutes of getting there. Sad that such a good band attracts those kind of knobs.
Festivals are for the young, who are happy to be uncomfortable and can sleep on the floor without doing their backs in for a month. I am to old and to decrepit, plus its to loud the toilet facilities are poor and I hate crowds. I am now going to make myself a cup of horlicks and read my book quietly
The Saturday of the V Festival is being 'headlined' by Beyonce.
Catch me standing in a field when it's pissing down with rain watching that crap.
(How come my spell checker doesn't suggest 'pissing' when I miss the I out but doesn't say it's wrong when I put it in?)
The "V" Festival has gone pop. The first couple were really good (1996-7). I got to see Beck, Echo and the Bunnymen, the Prodigy, Paul Weller, Lightning Seeds (decent pop, and a perfectly played set), Placebo, Charlatans, Kula Shaker (remember them? ). I could have watched the Foo Fighters, but opted for the Bunnymen instead - no regrets there.

Never done the festival thing but I recently slept on a friends couch for the night. Felt comfy at the time but spent the whole of the following day with a stiff back and creeky knees- I'm barely 26. I remember grown ups telling me when I was younger how they used to be able to sleep anywhere now prefered a bed. Never understood it until now.
On an unrelated it's a long weekend here- enjoying the thought of no work tomorrow but dreading the fact that the next one is in October.
I have an incredible irrational urge to meet David Van Day.

F**ks Bizz?
Got a madly busy/stressful week of work coming up but excited by the fact going to see two shows this week. Jesus Christ Superstar tomorrow night and Adam Hills on Saturday night! Really excited as it will be the first time seeing either live.
