To the critics whom critique

I've been reading through a fair few of the threads and I have a question

has anybody actually said "that is awful, never perform this. don't rewrite it unless you intend on writing a completely different joke"

or words to this effect. if not, I aim to be the first to elicit this response

People have said this but it's not very useful. Put something up you are proud of.

I aim to be the first to elicit this response

Why?

it is easier to under achieve than to succeed

and boredom at work

i've counted the staples four times

Terrible critique. Never-

etc

I'll admit it I said it but only on 2 provisos.

1 They're actively dishonest or rude. Conning you into critiquing something you'd have been to happy to read. And even then only if it's truly awful.

2 It's really irredeemably hopeless and then it's suggesting they start over.

Praising poor work, particularly if there are fundamental errors helps no one, least of all you.

And I;ve had it said to me, too which I've responded.

either
1 Well you're a rude person your opinion matters nothing to me.

or

2 Shit better do better next time.

WHO critique, ffs!

WHO critique, ffs!

I know, it's bloody shameful.
Half the posts on this board have all the erudition and grammatical savvy of a ransom note.

all the erudition and grammatical savvy of a ransom note.

Save that line Lazzard, it could fit in very nicely somewhere.

It would be invaluable should you kidnap a member of the Roget's dynasty.

(chuckles at the cut and thrust of this thread)
