British Comedy Guide

Hello, I'm George, 17 from Ireland, glad to join.

I grew up on a diet of classic BBC sitcoms, cult TV/film, Dr. WHo, Hammer Horror, Gerry Anderson and old TV novelisations from the unupdated school library. I hope to be a writer or a comedian. My favourite shows are The League of Gentlemen, Phoenix Nights and Father Ted (the Ormonde cinema used in the Passion of St. Tibulus was in fact my local until it closed six or seven years ago).
Are there any comedy stalwarts/writers on this forum?

Laughing out loud if only all Corkmen looked like that.

Welcome George Wave. There is a few George's on this forum. :)
Have you seen Mrs Brown's Boys?

Oh yus, my dear, it's a gem. Irish comedy is usually idiotic and unfunny a la Killinaskully, the Polish-themed Mind Your Language imitation The English Class and Irish Pictorial Weekly.

Ha!!! Here's one for ya!

This Irishman, yeah? This Irishman walks into a forum and....

Umm everyone said hello to him and that was pretty much it

He didn't do anything daft

He didnt say anything dumb

So yeah

Great

Bloody political correctness *mumble mumble mumble*

Welcome to the forums, George! Wave

Welcome aboard, George. :)

Hello, I'm Loopey, very old, not from Ireland. Welcome.
Yes there are comedy stalwarts/writers here; you may find some of them lurking in the Make It section of the boards.
