Best Two Ronnies Sketch Page 7

I do seem to be in a minority with my hatred of the musical bits, but I have always been the same. I remember when I was a kid being very irritated by their two folksingers, which seemed dated and silly even then. I know what you mean about the serials, but I used to love the Phantom Raspberry Blower and The Worm That Turned.

Now I love the songs but can't stand the Phantom Raspberry Blower !

:P

I also love being top of the page!

Don't wanna clog this thread up with references to other sites but after a spot of Googlin' I've discovered that yes, the Two Ronnies' Sweeny Todd musical number existed - Series 9, Ep 3 - and yes, it was a tad harsh. I'm sure it disturbed me at the time but it was probably down to the surprise and to my tender years so I'd like to see it again but it ain't on YouTube and even the repeat was reportedly edited... There's a bit in The Young Ones that disturbed me too - the Hell scene in 'Boring' where they bust his nose ('Bloody hell!') - but rewatching it, I find it relatively mild.
Mind you, I had a bizarre set of standards in my youth. My parents wouldn't let me watch Scooby Doo cos it was 'scary' or The Flintstones cos it was 'sexist' but they were quite happy to let me as a seven-year-old watch The Who's Tommy. Do the words 'Cousin Kevin' and 'Fiddle About' mean anything to you?

I like the one where they're in the shop.

Yes, and I like the one which involves the use of wordplay.

:D

I like the one where there's two of them...

I like the one where Barker reads out a very long list of things..

Old (Nine o'clock) news...

Not a big fan of their Calypso routines.

Not a big fan of their Calypso routines.

Not a fan of any of their musical stuff. Basically it was the same show every week, the real highlight for me was always the Corbett monologue

Written by Dennis "Spike" Mullins and later by David Renwick.

Haven't seen it in years but one that leaps out for me is "Mileaway", a short filmed story where RC and his wife fall through a timeslip and end up in a medieval village in a pub run by a lascivious RB and lose their English middle-class hang-ups. It's almost like The Two Ronnies meets the Twilight Zone!
