Probably you are all to young to even have heard of Hedy Lamar, but she was the beautiful woman that has ever lived, as well as one of the smartest. Not only a movie star and icon but also a mathematician who invented an early technique for spread spectrum communications and frequency hopping, necessary for wireless communication from the pre-computer age to the present day.

Yes Indeed
I was thinking she might be the woman from The Birds, but she just has (an extremely) vaguely similar name!
They had to wear a lot of screen makeup in those days, I bet famous actresses weren't recognised much off screen if they were makeup free.

Not Miss Lamar she had the complexion of a milk pond. She was known as the most naturally beautiful screen actress ever. Unfortunately Hollywood never really knew what to do with her. To smart to be just another Hollywood face. She also had a bit of a reputation as she had made some racy films in Hungary before going to Hollywood.
She looks totally gorgeous, but she's wearing a ton of makeup in that pic. Probably looked better without it.

In tribute I'm going to watch my copy of 'Boom Town' a forgotten classic with Clark Gable, Spencer Tracy, Hedy Lamarr and Claudette Colbert. They don't make em like that anymore
