It was only when I rewatched a bit of the show that I realised River was dead.

When you're story telling is so muddled, you can kill off probably the second most iconic character of the recent run. Then there is something badly wrong with your script.

I don't remember any episode in which River Song was dead-ed.

Shhh ;)

She became so popular because she was killed off in the first episode she was in.

The rule anyway for writers is "kill your darlings", don't overuse the best characters because people will tire of them. You wouldn't want the Daleks in every episode.

A Dalek assistant would be awesome - "Stop exterminating people!" - but given that Moffatt is a leg man, unlikely happen.

I think there's more too her than that. She's an unusual mixture of characteristics and she's featured in a couple of the best stories of all time. She's about the only co-equal companion and one of the few other time travellers.
Not to mention bringing all that back story from the NVA

That Moffatt turned her into some ridiculously shrill sociopath who was related to every character in some ridiculous way shows his incompetence as a story teller.
The guys the new NTJ.

You know the incompetent storyteller also wrote the stories you are highlighting as some of the best stories of all time?

Writers can lose their touch. And in the case of Moffat he has drastically.

Sure, if you don't like what he's doing.

Compared to his best work before he was show runner His story's and Plots now are weak and convoluted. There has been a massive drop in quality of the the show. Moffat as I have said before is a good writer but a poor show runner.

I don't think the current series has been the strongest. I really enjoyed his first two series, probably my favourite two runs since the show came back.

All his series have been far too dry for me. His first one the 5th series seemed to be very so until it got near the end. The Pandorica Opens built things up nicely but the final really failed to deliver. The Pandorica Opens is really the last time I felt the show was going somewhere and was on the right track.

Men I'm assuming the moffett of recent times is a southern or auton

If they want an offbeat companion then they should crack out the CGI and get permission to use Flook. http://richardawarren.wordpress.com/2011/12/16/trog-john-minton-and-flook/

"Doctor What" ....

A version of the Doctor Who series in which at each re-incarnation he becomes a different Alien.

:)

Doctor What is the Cambodian version, almost as popular as the Vietnamese version Doctor Hu.
