Now I have seen some of that. The mini-series thing where all the children went mental like they were adults on the Dr Who Thread on BCG.

I hate to argue with that, but I actually found John Barrowman quite likeable in Torchwood.
Torchwood is brilliant. People think of it as a bit of a joke, but it's been a lot better than Who for a while, in my opinion.
I really haven't seen enough of either to comment. I'm too busy watching serious stuff like Arrow and Defiance to have time for such childish shows.
