Gervais - at it again Page 2

What next Sacha Baron Cohen is really from Kazakhstan?

When Sacha roles up somewhere, as himself with his Mrs on his arm and then says he hates Jews and he's just shagged his cousin....that may be a better analogy!

But it's so f**king boring. He's been doing the same act since whenever The Office started. If it's not the actual, real him, then why is there no change?

Well i still find it funny that it gets this reaction and looking at the clips of him at the BAFTAS he got the biggest laughs with his mocking-style. I'll agree with the fact he hasn't changed that about his public persona but not many people who have such personas do change.

If you look at the very few (remember he uses the persona for his stand-up) in depth interviews that he's done (not just red carpet patter) none of the journalists conclude he is like that in reality. Ben Stiller is supposed to be one of the nicest guys in the business, Chris Martin too why would they be best friends with such an arsehole? Think about it.

Typical , a bunch of jealous c**ts , slagging someone who has actually made a success of their work , because theyre FUCKIN LOSERS!

This website gives me a real laff every day , it is so full of wanabee never will be's who are all riddled green with envy , WANKERS!

By the way, as my mate Ricky says , Have a nice day y'alllllll :D

You sound more like a hillbilly than a rockabilly.

Glad we entertain you every day. You might think about returning the favour.

Similarly, you don't go to the Baftas and slag it off for being inferior to the Oscars. Gervais is on his own in doiing this and it's embarrassing.

Bloody hell, lighten-up will you. Its tongue-in-cheek, a joke for exactly that reason. His style is to be cheeky and you all believe it, forgetting what jokes are about.

Well he's certainly lost all respect in this argument by turning it personal against people just debating in a mature manner.

Chris Martin too why would they be best friends with such an arsehole? Think about it.

They like him because he can be a great bloke. I have friends that like me but i can also be an arrogant arse. At work i have to think about how i'll act in various situations, if i'm sat in meeting and i've just earnt a £50k bonus then people will forgive a little "arse" banter - if i did it every time i saw them they'd think i was a tool.

I just think gervais would do well to slip in the occasional "normal" interview so we know he has another side.

Look I don't give a f**k about the Baftas. I'm actually jealous about joe Wright because I went to art school with the f**ker and he's done very well for himself - but as I said, there are some things you don't say.

Gervais has become a bit like Delboy, in that he can be relied upon to put his foot in it.

By the way how do you explain the comment about the other guests? Does he think people see these actors and performers only as potential extras in Extras?

zooo is going to FREAK!

Bono has all of his businesses registered and based in Luxembourg (I think) to avoid taxes. So why does he go around telling our Government to give all of its money to bloody Africa? Who you're "friends" with and what you portray to the public doesn't necessarily mean shit, does it? Even if we accept for a moment that it's not really him, and that he is actually a decent guy, then that still shows him up as a one-trick-pony. Continuing a successful persona is one thing, but he's been doing it for almost 7 years now that I know of, and Godot seems to think long before that too. Get a new act, Mr. Gervais. Show some real diversity and originality in your performance.

Exactly what I thought. Laughing out loud

I'm not going to "defend" him. I just know that I like him and he makes me laugh. Yes he appears arrogant and probably is and his act is getting/gotten old, but what can I say? At the end of the day he still makes me laugh and smile. Job done.

His bird is well fit too! ;)

Who's Joe Wright?

She's not my type, but she's too good for him!

I don't get this one trick pony stuff. He's co-written two hugely successful world-wide sitcoms about completely different subjects and characters (brent = entertainer in the workplace, Millman internal conflict between purist and money), he's broken records for his Podcasts, he's had a best selling book about Flanimals, and has one of the best selling stand-up runs in the country. You might not like all of these things but that is more than one trick, in fact more than most other comedians/writers in a life-span.

Aaron wasn't saying that his writing showed him up as a one trick pony, but the 'boastful knob' persona was tired - if indeed it is a persona.

Good call, he seems to be well liked enough by nice people. Although I also think he's been given far too much credit for the moccumentary style television show as there had been many others before his and ones which I thought were personally much more funny but beyond that I think he's a funny and talented person.
