Nope there's a line where he said (roughly the music is so flipping loud)

"..we choose our own names who we want to be, how we want to be remembered."

and then some rhubarb about how he wanted to heal the world.

Make it a better place.

Absolutely it was a great line, it's been his own name all the time.

But lost in this maddening soapy story structure.

Is that really all you know? How do you get through each day? Do people look after you..?

LOL

As to question:
Introducing JOHN HURT as THE DOCTOR w a bit of joke .

I didn't have much respect for you lot before but I've got none at all now. I think you'd watch and enjoy literally anything.

This episode was a disaster. There was no tension whatsoever. Moffat creates a secret and then dribbles it out bit by bit across the course of the episode. There's no narrative drive, no clash of character, no twists of plot, no muscle, no grit, no conflict. It just gets revealed very slowly whilst characters make embarrassing jokes. It's not drama in any sense, it's spectacle.

'The Impossible Girl?' I thought it was the 'Impossible Astronaut'? 'The Soufflé Girl' - isn't it 'The Girl Who Waited'? (Amy) - or was the boy who waited (Rory) or the last centurian?

An essential quality of storytelling is PERMANENCE. An exam is passed, a car crashes, someone dies. In Moffat it's just some swirly soup that we go in and out of. A character dies and then lives. The universe is destroyed then restored, forgotten, remembered.

This is garbage. A Sontaran butler, some Sarah Walters lesbian victoriana and a f**king Silurian in mourning. If you think this is good you've lost your minds. A 'conference call' that takes place in a dream, more Riversong, more 'spoilers' more calling the Doctor 'Doctor Who', more reckless myth-making about the Doctor's past - who gave Moffat the right to create all this garbage about secrets? The last of the timelords and the timewar was bad enough but now we have a f**king Galifreyan soap.

Unbelievable.

Utter shit.

Yup. And no one has mentioned the name of the doctor which opened the doors. So no one cares. for me it might have been Biege. Not sure. Might rew
ind it

Re Godot, even back when I absolutely LOVED Doctor Who episodes I don't think you liked it then either, so we're never going to have the same taste/opinions in Who quality!

Yesterday while I was carefully avoiding spoilers, I noticed that 'Toulon' was a trending topic on Twitter. I became convinced that must be what the Doctor's name had been revealed to be.
Rolling eyes

Well, you didn't actually hear his name as he didn't say it in the end.

Wouldn't Clara have heard it as she could hear River? Or was she too busy having her insides pulled out?

Possibly. And she did read it in another episode, then forgot, but as her memories from that ep came back I suppose she remembered again. In the end, the name itself doesn't matter and was a bluff.

Taste? Opinion? There's only right and wrong, sister. Apparently.

Instead of waffling on about things I didn't say I'd be more impressed if you actually dealt with my criticisms of the show.

I thought it might be "Please", because the doors opened when he said that, but then River Song said she had said his name to the doors.

How did the guy in Prison get his information at the start by the way?

Finally, my chance to impress you is at hand. Geek

He mentioned those 'Whisper Men', so maybe they had told him, to pass onto the lizard woman and get the ball rolling.
