Cooking Show Sketch...

So we are trying to do a few sketches on our YouTube channel and our latest is a really bad cooking show kind of sketch, it was quite impromptu and would really value your thoughts on improving our comedic timing and general look of the sketch.

Thanks

You really need to work on the script as it is not up to scratch.
The actor is confident and presentable but he is not funny and that's the problem.

His voice is good as well so perhaps you could inject much more humour into the script.

If you had this actor doing the dialogue for two puppets at the counter it would be much better.
The puppets could cook the lasange in a anarchic caper and use adult swearing and fighting.
If one puppet was Italian and the other was from Yorkshire you could do it were the Italian knows how to do everything but the Yorkshire puppet who is both foul mouthed and miserly with the ingredients is in charge.

I couldn't watch beyond the first two minutes, knowing it was going on for seven.

The cook is over elongating his words to sound like a cheesy host and its just not funny. Which is a shame because it could have been a confident piece to camera in the style of Jamie Oliver or any Sunday morning cookery show, and then slowly breakdown as you realise the kitchen isn't stocked at all, and the programmes beginning to look awful.

I'm going to rain it in there I think.

Ouch oh well, we made it in 10 mins anyway with no script just to entertain ourselves, it would be better if we planned and scripted it but I completely see what you mean it is cringe worthy really.

Well, yes, it would really! Only someone as brilliant as Peter Cook could get away with improvising.
