The Show What You Wrote Page 21

I wonder if the kitchen sink episode may have been combined with the historical / period drama one? I heard not many were coming in for Kitchen sink, whether this continued to be the case or not I don't know, but I would imagine a lot of those submissions could be recategorised as historical pieces, or at the very least would fit with the tone of them in the same episode.

Still holding out hope for a documentary rewrite, especially one about a particularly bland brummie presenter Hug

Many sketches can probably be reworked into documentaries without much effort, even if it's just fly on the wall doc about weirdoes. I doubt the same could be said about the other categories.

I anticipated all of this and submitted a historical documentary based on super natural events during the Jarrow March.

The sketch outlines the strife that the phenomena creates between Jenny a pregnant unwed mother and Terry a lop sided cap wearing flying picket who is also a bigamist.
The sketch then concludes by suggesting that the entire caper may have actually been an attempt at first contact (just to be on the safe side)

I didn't submit anything to this show as I wasn't 100% well in the run up to it and the old brain just wouldn't produce. Well done to all who got stuff in. I think this is the best opportunity to come round. The fact that you cold submit 50 sketches tells me that they were looking at writing talent for other projects as well as TSWYW.

They're now booking for the recordings at http://www.bbc.co.uk/showsandtours/shows/shows/the_show_what_you_wrote_2013

On the plus side, I got some tickets for Sundays show, that's the closest to an email from radio 4 I'll be getting hahaha

Congratulations. Got my pair for the 19th too - I'll be the one suppressing tears at the end when it's finally beyond a doubt that I got anything in.

It's a shame we don't know what themes they're going on which week yet

Anyone at the recording yesterday?

Any insight into how the host / one-liners / sketches / themes all fitted together?

I'll not expect you to remember all the sketches recorded but just curious as to hear how they put it all together.

Isn't the first recording next weekend?

Isn't the first recording next weekend?

Yes it is.

Ah in which case hold that question until next Monday.

And I will enjoy these extra 7 days that I have just gained.

I'm hoping for success from that new radio programme, The Show What You Get Rejected From...

"And I will enjoy these extra 7 days that I have just gained."

Are you dying?

Aren't we all?

Btw - I think more information on the rewrites for episode 1 (i.e. whether you're in the recording or not) has gone out.

My rewrite was for a later episode so this information is second hand.
