Hey, I've got all of the Smiths' and some of Morrissey's CDs. Miserable...but still a genius.

Yes, I hope they change the title. Would be interesting to see Lee play somebody successful after playing a bum in Not Going Out, although that would betray its American roots - very few US sitcom characters are blue-collar (pretty much the only exceptions are Cheers, Taxi and Rosanne). Perhaps they could call it something like 'Never Flew the Nest' or 'A Street Apart'.

There are many other blue-collar American sitcoms. What tends to be the case is that, irrespective of background or occupation, the lead characters are successful and more or less content in what they do.

Has it said anywhere who is playing the brother?

Do you know if original co-creator/Showrunner Phil Rosenthal is involved? I know he was very hands on when they made a Russian version. (There's even a documentary following him as he attempts to do so - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1356763/ )

No, not sure at this stage, I'm afraid. I've seen something suggesting that the pilot is an original Mack-penned script though, which would perhaps lean towards a very much 'inspired by' rather than 'adapted' sitcom, with less involvement from Rosenthal accordingly. But we shall have to wait and see.

Greg Davies would a nice choice if they're going for a tall guy (like in the original).

That would be excellent!

They're about the same age as well (I mean Mack and Davies) which makes sense.

What about the Mum? How anyone could live up to the original I don't know. Maybe Alison Steadman?

Oh goodness, no!

Have you seen her overacting in Gavin and Stacey?
She'd be perfect for Vicious though.

I'd suggest the two Brendas, Fricker or Blethyn.

As long as it's not Mrs bloody Brown.

Now that would be funny to do a crossover.

He's got enough of his own projects, I think.
