I suppose Big Bang is the new always-on-sitcom on E4, and whilst I enjoy it, it's no Friends.

Must be part of the contract for chanels to show it. It is always on here as well. The channel that has the rights also has a digital chanel and at night it usually on one of them. Sometimes both.

Never liked friends, to slick and young and vibrant for me. I loved Fraser though.

Friends is too nice and sugary and corny and bluueerggh

BBT is far far far better

It's edgier and ... just miles funnier

IMO

Edgier is by far the wrong word from what I believe you to be a punk fan. The only thing that makes it edgy is some of the sexual language in the show is quite strong for a "family show" but then again, that maybe me just getting old and noticing these things now Errr

Edgier? I'm not saying Friends was edgy, but Big Bang certainly isn't. You'd prob pass out if you saw Always Sunny In Philadelphia. ;)

Never "got" Fraiser or Sienfield. Happy to watch Friends don't seek it out either.

You're off my Christmas card list.

Maybe you should rather try Frasier and Seinfeld. ;)

Per say, BBT isn't edgy - course it's not

But compared to Friends it bloody well is!!

Don't ever remember seeing an episode of Friends where the topics of masturbation, prostitution, drug abuse and premature ejaculation are quite openly discussed

Did Ross ever have to go to hospital to have a robot arm removed from his penis after programming it to wank him off ?

I don't think so

Never got them either. I tried but I just don't.

Not but Friends did feature a lesbian couple and a sister giving birth to her brother's triplets, which was quite "edgy" 20 years ago.

There was at least one Friends episode about masturbation and a few that have prostitutes in 'em too.

I also noticed quite a lot of new jokes when I watched Friends on DVD. Weird that they got cut! (Cut from the original evening screenings I mean, not the later daytime versions.)

They cut stuff a lot on E4 I've noticed. Even if I haven't seen an episode of something, you can tell things have been dropped, gags chopped.

If you can't show it in the time slot because of content, then don't show it!

I think a lot of it was so they could play throughout the daytime on a never-ending loop.
