Things I should like but I don't Page 6

You probably could, no one notices who's there when there's a lot of people milling about!

I hate the new version of R&B and soul. Everybody else seems to like it and to consider it as highly artistic and emotional music.

Homophobe!

Give an example of who is considered a "new version" and "highly artistic".

Ok, "new version" compared to what R&B and black music in general meant in the 60s and 70s. So basically everything since the early 90s (I have no problem with the 80s soul stuff like Billy Ocean or Lionel Richie)...all that Whitney Houston, Destinys Child or Toni Braxton rubbish. This ultra sterile, artifical musical wank that has nothing to do with true soul.

There's a blurry line between "soul" and "pop", you've got to remember that "pop" crosses many genres, it just depends on what is popular at the time. You can have "pop" thrash metal and "pop" rap and "pop" country music, all of these things are sugary rip offs of their base music, where you will find the heart and soul. It's just that these true singers of their genre don't get as much attention as their "pop" counterparts because the latter is willing to whore their image out and get their music out there and in the charts.

"Real" music is still out there, you just have to look beyond the fluff.

Franz Liszt!

True.

I should like the "What fetish do you have?"-thread because it sounds saucy...but I think it's the complete opposite of sexy.
What brings me back to the R&B stuff: That's also completely unsexy contrary to popular belief.

Arachibutyrophobe!

Laughing out loud I didn't think that was going to be a real thing, but it is!

Stand up comedians doing stand up. I should find them funny but most get on my nerves a bit.

Woody Allen films
Coldplay
Breaking Bad
Banoffee pie
Monty Python films *holds breath*
