Doctor Who... Page 975

I thought it was a bit of a mess.
(caveat: bear in mind I always hated the Lesbian Detective Lizard strand - so was on a bit of a hiding to nothing)
The whole flash-back sequence was overly stylised - when they got out of the Tardis why was it like a hand-coloured silent movie? Where's the sense in that - and the freeze-frame photos? Enough with the music video sensibilities, already.
The fainting - plain daft and yet another in a catalogue of devices seemingly designed to take you out of the story.
The Tom-Tom joke was unforgivable for exactly the same reason.
Sonic-screwdiriver erection joke????
And what exactly did the red stuff do? Did it kill you, turn you red, make you immune, turn you into a wax-work....?
And why was there a special machine to make you not red/dead/whatever?
And who built the rocket - was it the Wiggly Worm , or did he have help from Diana Rigg?
An in the end it turned into the Sarah Jane Adventures.

I really really love Neil Gaiman's work.
I'm hoping next week will improve.

Agreed, I thought the Tom Tom thing was awful.

Nice to see Peter Kay back as Strax (sp?) though...

Next week looks like a skipper. Kid side kicks. I'm out.

I know - and I was looking forward to the Gaiman one, too...
Bummer.

It's by Neil Gaiman, if you skip that one, you may as well not bother with fantasy at all!

Oh, it was so bad it was funny. I'm sure they thought so too.

This was a really fun episode, I thought. Killjoys!

His last one wasn't to good, I like the guy and the Sandman stuff but on Who...mmm not so sure.

I laughed at Tom Tom, and threatening to shoot the horse.

His last one wasn't to good,

It's a good job you're not in front of me right now, I'm not sure you'd be able to handle the vicious look I'd toss in your direction. Pirate

It was, but...what's the point in pointing it out anymore. Who is what it is and it's never going to be much different to this.

Which one was his last one?

Which one was his last one?

The Doctor's Wife. (TARDIS is put inside a woman, basically)

I vaguely remember it. I might watch it again.

threatening to shoot the horse.

That was funny.

d it's never going to be much different to this.

Why?
is there a law or something?

No, but we've pretty much seen everything in Moffat's box of tricks, and the type of writers he uses, so unless something radical happens this is the type of Who we've got for the next few years. And the same problems will be repeated in episode after episode. And to be fair, a lot of the problems with Who just reflect bigger problems with British TV drama, which generally speaking is a bit insipid.

Steven Moffat is a better writer than he is showrunner.
