I never called them fascists. But it is a knee jerk response that is not the solution to the problem, but as always it is used by politicians to gain them personal empowerment. Many people have developed beyond these pat solutions to complex problems. As a committed European I find this kind of politics clouds issues that deserve to be discussed openly and honestly. Simple answers to complex problems normally only tighten a knot that needs undoing.

I know, and I did not mean to imply that you did. And the charge I had in mind was not so much fascism as racism, in which connection I was thinking of people like Gordon Brown and David Cameron.
But it is a knee jerk response that is not the solution to the problem, but as always it is used by politicians to gain them personal empowerment.
Now that is bordering on charges of fascism! But if there was not any underlying issue these people would never gain traction. UKIP do best in an areas of high unemployment and high immigration. Correlation is not causation, but if you import lots of people willing to work for peanuts you can see how it might not be good for jobs or wages.
Many people have developed beyond these pat solutions to complex problems. As a committed European I find this kind of politics clouds issues that deserve to be discussed openly and honestly.
I think UKIP would argue discussing these issues openly and honestly is precisely what the committed Europeans have refused to do.
Simple answers to complex problems normally only tighten a knot that needs undoing.
Refuse to acknowledge issues that do not fit political agendas and the knot is always going to baffle.
An excellent article from the Guardian about why immigration is bad for both the importing and exporting countries: Why the left is wrong about immigration
There is a strong case for saying immigration might be the answer to our present problems, more tax revenue leading to growth etc etc. My argument isn't with the discussion of immigration, more the use of it as an easy political answer for certain political parties, I include Labour and the Conservatives in that. But free movement is a two way street, it would be interesting to see the reaction of the many British expats when they were given their marching orders. The British always want their cake and to eat it, they still have a post emperial sense of entitlement. Why anybody would want to come here I don't know. Our benefits system is no better than many others, and the NHS a lot worse than France and Germany's health care systems. The weather is shit, the natives aren't friendly.

You mean lynch him, Shirley?
How Ironic that the PFA complains of racist remarks from Reginald.
Had they not seen his show?

Much better than much of Asia and Africa. That's why. And prestigious education and shopping for China's nouveau riche.
I think his question was why do they come here rather than the rest of Europe.
And no one's complaining about China's nouveau riche coming here, in fact there's concern not enough of them are.

This plane crash got me thinking...
If you believe certain people, the "iluminati" want to control the whole world eventually
They have an American union , the EU, the African union etc and they intend for these unions to one day form the one global facist state
Now
Maybe they could see what was coming with UKIP I.e their rapid growth culminating in this weeks huge gains in the council elections
UKIPs main , main agenda , if not its only one - is to get the UK out of the EU - ie the Europe chunk of the eventual global state
In other words Farage and his party are 100% opposed to what this "iluminati" require to achieve their goals
So! Maybe this "accidental" air crash was an assassination attempt to derail this happening
The pilot was also reported to have made threatening phone calls to Farage afterwards in which he mentioned he owned a pistol amongst other things
Apparently history is littered with "accidental" air crashes involving figures like Farage....
Just a thought
You are catskill and I claim my £5 - though maybe by now it should be £50.
The Illuminati need to up their game !
They missed the twat that time !

If it was it was the worlds crappiest one.
People who get offed supposedly by government agencies tend to die of sudden undiagnosed heart or liver conditions.
Check out the couple of times Mossad got caught red handed doing it.
As it is there's always space for a Nick Griffin or a Ross Perot. Someone to shake up the political battle space and disapear shortly after.
Nick Griffin bless him saw his chance at the last election. Chased the nutters out of his party (ok the completely unredeemable nutters), stole most of militant labor's policies on housing and rebranded himself as the bastard son of Attlee and Enoch Powell. Got some council seats and was completely humiliated at the actual real election.
Similarly the head of the EDL got to shred Paxman on Newsnight before disapearing into the sulphurous mists of history.
Farrago has some headlines and council seats and no real ability to do anything other than steal disenchanted rightwing Tory voters. I suspect he's smarter enough to ally himself with the Torys in time for the next election (after giving Dave an excuse to ditch unpopular Laborite policies).
The most concerning thing for me. Is the tendency for Brits to piss votes up the wall on supposed protest votes for MEPs and councilors these things are important.

1 Our benefit system for immigrants is more generous and where it is less generous (for refused appeals etc) it is incompetently enforced. The French and the Dutch have had refugee camps for years now and are building more.
We had Yarlswood and then it burned to the ground (there are a very small number of faccilities replacing it for holding people just before deportation).
2 The NHS is entirely incapable of enforcing payment on health tourists (unlike insurance based schemes in Europe). It bleeds hundreds of millions possibly billions a year over seas.
3 The private contractors handling immigration appeals etc have done such an awful job that 100,000s of people who possibly should be asked to leave will be allowed to stay. Because their paper work was lost.
We are wealthy generous country, with an enviable system of benefits and health care. Not to mention employment and support in employment.
This knee jerk, leftist we're shit and we should be sorry is worthless.
