Hopefully it will split the Tory vote, and they won't get re-elected.

But what if UKIP got elected, have you seen some of their proposals, not to mention their costings, It worries me that if everyone protest votes we could end up with this strange band of loons in a position of influence
They have no policies do they?

Anyone who isn't English can f**k right off

Not so much a policy more of a state of mind that. It is amazing how throughout human history, from the earliest settlements, when things, from disease to poverty. go wrong people's knee jerk reaction is to blame the outsiders. THEY BE STRANGERS and must be responsible for the fact we have f**ked everything up. Human nature is so predictable and so parochial.
I suspect this is Ukip's 15 minutes of fame, and they'll simply fade away soon enough.
Yep
Like, the Germans said the Jews are all to blame
Let's kill them all and all our problems will just disappear
Ahh the human race
Gotta love em
(I think I just reached the depressed stage of drunkeness)

No cheer up birthday boy, your one of the good guys
Nigel Farage seems to have become a Boris Johnsoneque type figure. An idiot that gets a depressingly easy ride from the press and public purely because he's a vaguely kooky oddball.
Yea, man of the people, has a fag and a drink, the ex stockbroker, public school div. Maybe its a chance at last for lonely Stan from my local to stand for power, he's always complaining about foreigners and saying he could run the country, mind you, he also says mobile phones cameras are used by MI5 to spy on everyone....

Time to go to sleep.
The mother of the child who allowed Prince Charles to hold her baby should be had up for child cruelty.

When Minder was pitched to Dennis Waterman he suggested Denhom Elliot for Arthur Daley and envisaged a dodgy surburban minor public school boy spiv ducking and diving in a Surrey golf club. There you have Farage in a nutshell; a political entrepenuer stacking up a pile of reactionary gripes in his lock up to maximise his stock.

Yeah but he was great in The Walking Dead though

Surely an evolutionary adaptive response? Primitive human societies are insular and in nature social animals tend to be territorial. Strangers carry infection and compete for resources.
You could argue that humans as a species should have evolved beyond such redundant programming, but ultimately our evolutionary need is the same: to preserve our DNA, not that of others of our species. That does not preclude altruism, which can in itself be evolutionary adaptive, but from a Darwinian perspective self-interest has to come first.
And with the reintroduction of previously eradicated diseases and the risk of pandemic from mutated viruses, together with the pressure on global and local resources created by overpopulation, there is a case to be made that hostility to strangers remains as evolutionary adaptive ever.
When wariness of strangers becomes non-adaptive is when evolutionary adaptive self-interest is twisted into irrational hatred, so that the behaviour that results becomes psychopathic, undermining and damaging the society it ostensibly seeks to protect.
This arguably is the distinction between UKIP voters and BNP voters. To brand people who are just looking out for themselves, and their offspring, as fascists, is to fundamentally misunderstand human nature, and indeed the electoral appeal of UKIP.
