This was a 9/10 for me. Instantly one of my favourites of New-Who.

No, no, no...not "New-Who"...it's "Netanjahu".

Definitely agree about someone with gravitas taking on the role. If Paterson Joseph took it though, I think I'd just be thinking "this is buuuullshiiit Mark" to myself whenever I saw him on screen.
I thought last night's episode was an inventive take on the haunted house story. The introduction of some tension and moments of jeopardy lifted it head and shoulders above the previous stories and, of course, there was a conclusion which didn't involve the Doctor flapping his mouthpiece. 8/10 for me.
And with your fondness for 70s 80s UK scifi must have been right up your street
Most people seemed to enjoy this one.
Where's Godot, surely someone hated it?
I liked it too.

I imagine we can take that as read!
SEXY
And isn't it better to have a guy in a rubber suit, rather than ballsing it up with some crappy CGI that pulls you right out of the story.
They should cut back on the twee talk between the Doctor and Clara. Nobody talks like that and it's getting a bit c**ty-wunty.
I didn't hate it, but it would be nice if they slowed down a bit and explained what was going on; funny how they can find time for all sorts for orchestral scored emotional bollocks, but not for a bit of basic exposition.
I can see why, after delivering this script, Moffat immediately asked Cross to write another one. Even if that ended up a bit of a duffer, in the main. He definitely redeemed himself with Hide. This felt like the kind of episode you might expect Gatiss to try to do.
I got say Dolphin I totally disagree.
This was a perfect example of what I call Dr Who script lubricant.
All the info was there that was needed; who the investigators were what their relationship was, what the 2 monsters were why the Dr was there.
All the supplementary stuff jettisoned.
And why was the Dr there? Beacause he had magic paper.
The only reason people seem to give this episode such high marks is because the moffat era has set the standard so low.
There we go, I knew there'd be someone along eventually!
