The ghost and the sometimes Harryhausen-ish alien were both properly scary too.
Doctor Who... Page 966
And all the characters were good even though chrononaut just neatly explained pen portraits
And top notch 70s kmitwear
The look of it all was great, in particular the forest set bits. It didn't feel rushed at any point either.
Whoever decided to use that effect with the alien's movements is a flipping genius. So much scarier than the usual stuff.
I liked it even though they insulted my home town. *Shakes fist*
And the brief moment where he landed in the pocket universe and you saw the woods were floating in the void, a very neat bit of fx to advance not replace the story.
(pay attention Scifi!)

missed that bit.
Top stuff tonight, loved the whole atmosphere, and it had Dougray Scott!...yum.
It had the feel of those top notch BBC scifi shows of the 1970s down pat, not to mention the Pertwee evil village, haunted house vibe. The series seems very comfortable referencing him they should do it more often.

Clara: "Say we actually find her, what do we say?"
Doctor: "We ask her how she came to be... whatever she is?"
Clara: "Why?"
Doctor: "Because I don't know and ignorance is, erm, what's the opposite of bliss?"
Clara: "Carlisle."
Doctor: "Yes. Yes, Carlisle. Ignorance is Carlisle."
That made me smile.
This episode was packed with peril and mystery.
Yeah, great mix of tension, ghostiness and romance...loved the end when he went back to reunite the monsters.
Yeh and romance me being a fella didnt want to say nothing
still waters run deep Sootyj.
Are you still kissing the frogs at the council pond?
I thought the council took an ASBO on you for that.
I spied a rapper in next week's episode. Can't remember who on earth he is though.
